Tour Guide for now nine wonderful years, I am a very positive and ongoing person. It is really hard to get away the smile from my face ;o) When I decided to get my guiding license, more than 9 years ago now, I thought first, that it could be a summer job while on holiday from teaching, but I quickly realized what a great job guiding can be. I use to say, that now, my students are older than before, and are now really very interested in what they want me to speak about. Even better. I started doing tours for friends from California, years ago, then friends of their friends, and I now take people on my tours who become friends ;o) I live in in Normandy, where I was born, but I also lived in Paris, in the US , and in some other countries. That gives me the ability to understand other cultures and to adapt myself. Yet, Paradise is for me "here" in the green pastures of Normandy. Both my grandparents lived through the German occupation, and both were in the French Resistance. I have a very strong connection to my region. That really started my passion for digging in the past. After an education in Normandy, I went studying History and Journalism in Paris at the Sorbonne. As a real History buff, I have created some unique itineraries no one else did before me, like the real Viking tour on the footsteps of the Vikings of Normandy. I try as much as possible to do things the best I can. I am a perfectionist, and I assume. I am married and have two lovely daughters. Besides my family and my job, I love horses. Overview of your Caen tour
I will meet you in Caen or Bayeux; Besides the obvious advantages of a Private Tour, I will share with you my passion and enthusiasm for the History of this unique site. Taking a tour with me at the Mont St Michel, not only will you see everything you should see there, but I will also take you for a gourmet lunch with a spectacular view of the bay. The lock-down in France allowed me to stay many nights on the island, and I will share with you the unique expertise I gained in 2020. Through the "stories " and "History" I will tell you, you'll delve into more than 1000 years of French and European history. Also, if your condition and the tides allows, you'll experience a walk on the bay avoiding the quicksands and the quick tides. Then, before returning to Caen, you'll first discover the amazing millennial manuscripts of the Abbey of the Mont St Michel and see how church bells were made. This journey in Medieval History should be the start of a new passion, I hope.

This was the best tour we have had on our two week trip so far. Igor, our tour guide, was very communicative before our tour. He was extremely knowledgeable about Mont Saint Michelle’s history and had many captivating stories to tell on the drive up from Caen. My two teenage boys that love history were engaged and following along the whole time. We saw the village below and stopped for lunch at a great spot that specializes in lamb dishes. We then headed up to the abbey and got more info and history from Igor. All of which was interactive and informative. We went home very happy.
