Hello! My name is Maureen, and I’m from the region of Normandy, where I was born and raised. I’ve been passionate about history for as long as I can remember, so I pursued a degree in guiding, which allowed me to combine my love of languages, history, and storytelling. I began my career by doing tours at a Calvados distillery, an experience that gave me a deep appreciation for our regional heritage. Outside of guiding, I love reading and discovering new things; I’m naturally curious and always eager to connect with new people. I have been a professional guide in my region for two years now. My travels and experiences have shown me the value a guide can add to enriching visitors' experiences and connecting them to local culture. I’ve always wanted to help people explore Normandy in a genuine and unique way, sharing stories that bring each tour to life. On this tour, I'll take you to the main sites where American soldiers landed on D-Day. We'll explore the beaches and other key locations (you’ll be able to walk on the sand if the tide allows!), and I'll share the powerful stories of what unfolded in the early hours of June 6th. We’ll also visit the remaining bunkers and gun positions, and I’ll highlight specific actions that took place there. In addition to this, we'll have the chance to honour the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom by visiting the American Cemetery. This is a peaceful yet very moving place overlooking Omaha Beach — the site of the heaviest Allied losses on D-Day. My focus is on showing you the actual battle sites and cemetery, rather than spending a lot of time in museums. But if you'd like to see a museum, we can absolutely work that in — it'll just mean a little less time at the other locations, but simply let me know, the tour can be customized to your preferences. A wonderful tour that hit all the highlights. Maureen was a great driver and guide, sharing the history of the area and details about DDay. Her timing was great for each location avoiding the summer crowds as we visited Sainte-Mère-Eglise, Utah Beach and museum , Omaha Beach and Listened to taps as the flags came down at the end of the day at the US cemetery. Full day! Great tour!
Maureen was wonderfully knowledgeable, fun, and informative. Her method of operation generally consisted of leading us to the area of interest, telling us all relevant historical details, and then allowing us the freedom to wander about and explore on our own. Both myself and family far prefer her method of operation to other guides we have had who are rigorously structured and don't allow self-exploration. Also, she picked us up directly at our hotel and had drinking water available to us at all times. We could not have asked for a better experience. We all loved her! Thank you, The Brown Family

Our 8 hour tour of Normandy invasion sites was excellent. Our guide, Maureen T., listened to our tour wishes & tailored the tour accordingly. She was very knowledgeable of the history & importance of each site we visited & she spoke very good English (a real plus for visitors from the USA). I highly recommend Maureen as a guide for anyone visiting Normandy.
·If we were to depart from Bayeux, our first stop would be Sainte-Mère-Eglise, where we'd visit a stained glass church where a famous American paratrooper was caught on the steeple ·Afterwards, we'd visit the Airborne Museum, showcasing the bravery of paratroopers (If you're up to it) ·Next, we'd head to Utah Beach, where American forces launched a major assault. ·A proposed lunch break would follow, before continuing to Pointe du Hoc, where American Rangers scaled cliffs under fire to seize a German battery. ·Moving on, we'd reach Omaha Beach, known as "Bloody Omaha" for its heavy casualties ·Our final stop before returning would be the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, which holds over 9,000 graves ·Finally, we'll drive back to your pick-up location or to the agreed drop off point. The itinerary may vary based on the pickup location (Caen, Le Havre, or Bayeux), so feel free to contact me to discuss a more specific tour schedule!
