Hello! My name is Maureen, and I’m from the region of Normandy, where I was born and raised. I’ve been passionate about history for as long as I can remember, so I pursued a degree in guiding, which allowed me to combine my love of languages, history, and storytelling. I began my career by doing tours at a Calvados distillery, an experience that gave me a deep appreciation for our regional heritage. Outside of guiding, I love reading and discovering new things; I’m naturally curious and always eager to connect with new people. I have been a professional guide in my region for two years now. My travels and experiences have shown me the value a guide can add to enriching visitors' experiences and connecting them to local culture. I’ve always wanted to help people explore Normandy in a genuine and unique way, sharing stories that bring each tour to life. Normandy has an exceptional heritage, and I love taking visitors through its rich and complex history. From William the Conqueror to the D-Day landing beaches, every era has left its mark here—not to mention our renowned gastronomy! Whether it’s through medieval architecture, castles, or culinary specialities, I wish to give travellers a truly immersive experience of our region. My goal is to make your journey through Normandy suited to you. I look forward to meeting you and showing you all that my region has to offer!

Over two days, I’ll take you to the key sites where Allied forces landed on D-Day. We’ll explore the beaches (you can walk on the sand if the tide allows!), visit bunkers and gun positions, and I’ll share powerful stories of what happened in the early hours of June 6, 1944. We'll also pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom at the American Cemetery, a peaceful and moving place overlooking Omaha Beach — where the Americans suffered their heaviest losses. My focus is on the actual battle sites and the cemetery rather than museums. However, if you'd like to include a museum visit, we can certainly do that — just keep in mind that it may reduce time at other locations. The tour is fully customizable to your interests, so feel free to let me know what matters most to you.
