Hello! My name is Maureen, and I’m from the region of Normandy, where I was born and raised. I’ve been passionate about history for as long as I can remember, so I pursued a degree in guiding, which allowed me to combine my love of languages, history, and storytelling. Overview of your Caen tour
Over two days, I’ll take you to the key sites where Allied forces landed on D-Day. We’ll explore the beaches (you can walk on the sand if the tide allows!), visit bunkers and gun positions, and I’ll share powerful stories of what happened in the early hours of June 6, 1944. We'll also pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom at the American Cemetery, a peaceful and moving place overlooking Omaha Beach — where the Americans suffered their heaviest losses. My focus is on the actual battle sites and the cemetery rather than museums. However, if you'd like to include a museum visit, we can certainly do that — just keep in mind that it may reduce time at other locations. The tour is fully customizable to your interests, so feel free to let me know what matters most to you.

Day 1: Departure from your accommodation (Bayeux, Caen, or Le Havre) · Drive to Pegasus Bridge, where the first gliders landed and liberated the first house · Visit Juno Beach, where Canadian troops landed · Optional lunch break (time/location may vary depending on stops or your preferences) · Arromanches, to see the remains of the Mulberry B artificial harbor · Final stop: Longues-sur-Mer to see original 155mm artillery guns → Return to your accommodation Day 2: Departure from your accommodation (Bayeux, Caen, or Le Havre) · Drive to Sainte-Mère-Église, where paratroopers landed · Visit Utah Beach to see the landing site and learn about the assault · Next: Pointe du Hoc, where Rangers scaled the cliffs · Optional lunch break (time/location flexible) · Visit Omaha Beach, the site of the heaviest US casualties · Final stop: American Cemetery, including the flag-lowering ceremony → Return to your accommodation
