Eliana was wonderful! She is very knowledgeable, and so passionate about not only informing us but critically, making the connections between history and current events and very much making us feel a part of history. As Canadians coming to Juno beach, it was an emotional day and she was understanding and kind and she had just the right pace for the day. We would not have had as memorable and meaningful a day without her. I highly recommend her.

This tour was a highlight of our 17 day Spain and France trip. We had the pleasure of spending 2 days with our Guide Elena. She was very fun to be with, was VERY knowledgeable of the American and Canadian landing beaches and Mount Saint-Michel. Elena explained in detail all of the D-Day planning, strategies and phases of the invasion. She engaged her audience and was obviously engaged with all of us. The Mt St-Michel tour was also excellent. Request Elena as your guide, but reserve her way in advance.
Could not have asked for a better Guide and Tours. I highly recommend Elena Biehler for her knowledge of sites visited on the tours. We all loved spending the two days with her and wish her all the very best in the future.
I cannot say enough good things about ToursByLocals and our guide Elena for our 2 days in Normandy, across all the sectors. Elena is a historian, she knows so much and relates all types of information about the area, the battles, their outcomes and she carries notebooks with visual aids that haled us to understand the complexity of the whole D-Day/Normandy campaign and puts a personal touch on those who were involved. She arrived at our hotel on time and took care of us each day. Wonderful!
1st Day Caen - La Pointe du Hoc - Omaha Beach WN 72 National Guard Memorial - American Cemetery - Lunch - Saint Mere Eglise - Utah beach WN5 - Caen We will stop at each place at least for 30 min and sometimes more. You will see German defenses positions, several monuments and Memorials. We will drive through Normand countryside and hedgerows. it would be possible to walk on beaches during high and low tides. 2nd Day Caen - Mont Saint Michel - Caen We drive about 1h30 min on countryside roads and on highways. You will see the Medieval town, half-timbered houses, ramparts, the Abbey and the Mont Saint Michel bay.
