I was born in Normandy. I grew up on a farm near Caen in a little village called Tilly la Campagne (65 inhabitants, 100% destroyed during WWII). My father, my grandparents, my uncles and now my brother-in-law are all farmers. I went to study in at an agriculture school for 5 years. As a trainee, I've spent 3 months working on a cider farm. Since this training period, I drink Cider almost every day ! After my agriculture studies, I moved near Paris to study Business & Marketing in the Food Industry. Then I decided to spend 2 years in Africa to work with farmers in the bush. Such an incredible experience… Back to France, I worked for 16 years in different Food Industry companies as an Innovation Marketing Manager focusing on 'What would the food be tomorrow ?' I was living in Paris, far from my Normandy and my family, so I decided to come back ! Since 2013, I have shared my passion which is Normandy. I feel like a countryman. I love Normandyyyy and particularly its 'terroir'. I welcome visitors from all over who would like to discover the deep countryside in a very picturesque sub-region of Normandy called: 'Le Pays d'Auge'! The Pays d'Auge is like a postcard of Normandy with apple trees, norman cows, horses, half-timbered houses. . . This diversity gives us hard cider, apple brandy called Calvados, 4 different kind of cheeses such as Camembert, foals and yearlings. I am not a licensed guide but who is more legitimate to talk about agriculture, food and landscapes than an agronomist ? I am ready to customize your tours with your expectations because it will be YOUR DAY. . . Come to discover another part of Normandy with me! Did you know that Normandy is a land of the Vikings from where William The Conqueror left to conquest England ? But Normandy is much more than that especially in the sub-region called Le Pays d'Auge ! Le Pays d'Auge is full of surprises. What I like in this region is to be lost by my GPS (any signal!). Those small roads are so charming to discover a valley, a manor, a stud farm, a house overlooking the rolling hills all year round green. Le Pays d'Auge is the land of horses and stud farms having some racecourses such as Deauville. But it is also the cradle of Norman cheeses: Camembert, Livarot or Pont-L'Evêque, cheeses originating from the villages and towns of the same name. The local gastronomy is also represented by the Normandy spirits specific to the country: hard cider, apple brandy called Calvados, Pommeau of Normandie and more. . . The Pays d'Auge is full of little villages where life is so quit. You will appreciate the style of manors and houses. Enjoy Authentic Normandy !
Your Caen tour itinerary
This tour will start at the agreement place. • On this 100% Pays d'Auge day, we will start from Caen. You will visit one of his stud farms and discover our famous Norman cheeses by visiting the last farm making the Camembert cheese and picking up some variety for a lovely picnic (optional). The place for the picnic would be a surprise! •After the lunch break, you will visit a cider farm to enjoy the local hard cider / the apple brandy 'Calvados' / the Pommeau de Normandie. • Then you will discover the manor house of Coupesarte, one of the most beautiful wooden barracks in the region from the XV century. • On the way back we will go through one cute town. • Enjoy the postcard of Normandy. . . horses and norman cows eating some grass under apple trees with half-timbered house behind ! Additional information: - I can customize this tour according to your wishes. Just let me know. - I can offer you the lunch with local seasonal products on my great grand mother's plate on a well-dressed table. (optional)
