I'm a licenced national guide for more than 25 years. I live in Normandy for more than 20 years and so the most interesting sites have no secrets for me. I've worked many years with US, Canadian and British visitors and can adapt to their needs. I'm a specialist of the landing Beaches including: The US sectors (Omaha, Utah), the British sectors ( Sword, Juno) &the Canadian sector ( Juno). The museums and sites concerning the battle of Normandy and WW2 are well-known by me. - the historical and picturesque sites of Honfleur, Deauville, Etretat, Rouen, Giverny, Caen, Bayeux, Mont Saint Michel, the typical area Le Pays d'Auge. . . I am a part-time associate professor in history and cultural heritage in the University of Caen; I used to work as a consultant with Unesco in the field of world heritage; I travelled to many countries in the world as a tour leader or for personal purpose; I am active in cultural associations and sports activities. I am married and have two sons. I am a licensed national guide for more than 25 years. I work also as a part-time associate professor at the University of Caen in the Department of History. I used to be a consultant with the Unesco in restoration and preservation of the sites of the world heritage. My involvement in cultural tourism and my experience as a tour leader for many years motivates my interest to be a tourist guide. I like to exchange with guests and make them discover wonderful sites. As a certified French national tour guide, I'm allowed to guide everywhere and to pick you up directly at your hotels, train stations and ship docks. There are no restrictions for me in France.

Durnig this tour your going to see some of the sites where the couragouse americain soldiers landed and started to free Europe from Nazis Occupation. This visit is made to remeber that the Europeans owe to this landing their freedom. The sites are : - La Pointe du Hoc: You will be impressed by the bunkers, the shell holes and the cliffs of the German battery where fought the Rangers. Their mission was to destroy the cannons 155 pointed to the large with a range of 12 miles. - Bloody Omaha: discover the beach where landed on the 6th of June 1944 more than 34000 soldiers of the 1st and 29th divisions. Many American soldiers died facing the German forces. The conditions where terrible for the Americans. - Discover the remains of the artificial harbor, the Mulberry Lunch in a local restaurant - Visit the moving American war cemetery where are buried more than 9000 soldiers. On the way back you will cross the battlefield of the Hedgerows.
Ezzedine was terrific. At first we were worried. My son and I have studied quite a bit about Normandy and the landings. Once Ezzedine realized this, he adapted wonderfully pointing out the esoteric and concentrating on showing us relevant things rather than "teaching". We appreciated the shift. We had a great day with him and got the bonus of some lessons on Bayeaux's cathedral.
An excellent tour with an excellent guide! Ezzedine is very knowledgeable and has a deep historical understanding. He is also warm and generous. We saw all of the important sights and others beside. Very serious and moving sights, but all in all a wonderful and instructive day. This is a truly wonderful way to see and experience the memorials of D Day and its aftermath.
Ezzedine gave us a fantastic tour of Normandy and the D-Day Landing Beaches. He is extremely knowledgeable and easy to understand. His love of history and aptitude for bringing it to life was apparent to our entire group. We would highly recommend Ezzedine!
Ezzedine is a really great guide because not only is he adaptable and forward thinking but also he is very knowledgable and friendly. He checked out some specifics for us before our tour, and during the day he was able to adapt to our needs ( we had an elderly guest). He could arrange coffees and lunches, and his car was very useful. He is well qualified and a very nice person to spend that day with . You are lucky to get him as your guide.
This was our 2nd time exploring Normandy with Ezzedine (first time was 7 years ago). Ezzedine is a wonderful guide, with a broad based knowledge of the history and landscape of Normandy. We covered a lot of ground during our 1 day visit. Our only concern was that, while Ezzedine says his car can take 5/6 passengers, when we told him there were 5 of us, he immediately suggested that he rent a van, in order for us to have a more comfortable experience. We did, and had a wonderful time, but we had to pay an additional fee for the upgraded van.
Exceeded my expectations. The tour was customized to include the Canadian D-Day beach and related sites, as well as a some Normandy history on the way there and back. It included a few sites that I had not thought of, but which were very interesting and emotionally moving. Ezzedine was prompt, extremely well informed, accommodating, and engaging; in short, everything that you want in a private tour guide.
We will start the tour from Caen heading to the American sectors of Omaha where landed the American troops on the 6th of June 1944. In Omaha, you will discover: - the German battery of La Pointe du Hoc, where landed the American Rangers, and where the shell holes and the craters created a lunar landscape - Bloody Omaha where landed the 1st and the 29th Infantry Divisions - the remains of the artificial harbor of Mulberry - the American war cemetery - the battlefield of the Hedgerows Returning back to Caen .
