Let’s go together for a meaningful and memorable journey about the Gis on D-Day. I was born in the medieval town of Bayeux and raised on a renowned stud farm in Normandy’s luscious hedgerow country close to Omaha Beach. Both sides of my family have deep roots in the region and have been farming here for many generations. I grew up riding horses and was introduced to the fascinating world of professional show jumping. As a child, after enjoying a typical Normandy meal complete with the fresh dairy products straight from their farm, my grandparents would often take me to the nearby D-Day beaches, reminiscing about those historic events they had experienced themselves as civilians. This pushed me to become a guide at the Normandy American Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach, where I helped visitors from all over the world for nearly 20 years to connect with the story of those who rest there eternally. Of that time, I have kept powerful memories of escorting family members to the graves of their loved ones and veterans visiting their comrades-in-arms. Every guided tour is a unique experience, as walking the grounds where these Americans were tested the most makes us appreciate all the more the landscape of tranquility it has become thanks to them. Survivors' tales, audio testimonies, historic photos, maps and military documents, will help us grab the complexity and nuances of situations they faced as their actions led to 'the beginning of the end' of the war in Europe. From despair to hope, from hate to mutual aid, their stories inspire us to reflect on obstacles that can seem sometimes unsurmountable and ups and downs of human adventures that reveal what humanity is truly made of. To make the most of your journey in their footsteps, I like to adapt to your needs and interests as I understand it can be quite an adventure in itself! If you are travelling with your family, I am happy to engage kids with simple activities, photos and discussions that are appropriate to their ages, having myself three children from 7 to 16. To me, welcoming visitors to Normandy means welcoming people to my home: it puts a smile on my face and makes me feel full of appreciation that they give me the opportunity to allow them to love Normandy as much as I do. --- My credentials : -Guide license: N° 25-14-017 P -Certified Heritage Interpreter (National Association for Interpretation - USA) -Online courses of Military Strategies at 'Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes' - Ecole de Guerre de Paris (2022-2023) -Masters Degree in Economic Strategies of Sports and Tourism

- Who they were The tour starts with a visit to the Normandy American Cemetery in the morning, when it's not too crowded yet, creating a more intimate experience. Here you will be introduced to the personal stories of several US service members commemorated there to better understand who they were and what they left behind. - Where they fought Next you will discover what happened to them by going to the places where they faced the enemy and made the ultimate sacrifice. - Why they served During a final stop, at an unexpected location you will get a better understanding of why these men served, providing us with the deeper meaning of their death. Throughout the day you will also discover the story of the German Occupation and liberation through the lens of a family from Normandy as my grandparents were all liberated by American soldiers in both Omaha and Utah beach sectors. This will help you understand the reasons why these men had been separated from their family to be sent off to war overseas.
I will join you in your vehicle for the tour which lasts approximately 8 hours (8:30-16:30) starting and ending in Bayeux (or from your accommodation if within 30mn from the Normandy American Cemetery). We will go your own pace, for a smooth, insightful experience. Who they were: - The Normandy American Cemetery Where they fought: - Omaha Beach (1 or 2 stops depending on weather and interest) - The US Airborne drop zones (2 stops) - Utah Beach (2 stops) - The Azeville German gun battery (lesser known than Pointe du Hoc that is going on major renovation / construction work 2026-27 so two thirds of the site is only accessible and with limited access) - An inland town highlighting the difficult advance through Normandy’s hedgerow country Why they served: - The final “Why they served” discovery stop The tour covers most well-known locations and some more intimate places. If you want to avoid the crowd all day, I can accommodate your request and change stops, it will be as much meaningful and memorable!
