Wendy is an ace food guide for anyone looking for the authentic flavours of Cartagena. It wasn’t just the variety of local cuisines she showcased for us. But she took the time to integrate culture and history into our time together, and enthusiastically answered all our questions. Wendy comes with a delightful presence, and the highest standards for the local vendors and establishments she’ll show you. After the visit to the esteemed “little rubber tree” we returned each day before departing Cartagena. And we can’t forget the moments we spent taste-testing a cornucopia of fruits we’ve never before encountered in North America. From a practical perspective, the tour included a good mix of outdoor locations as well as places with some AC/bathrooms. Excellent adventure.

What a fascinating tour through Old Cartagena and the food and culture of this beautiful city. Wendy was an amazing host, taking us to little stores and stalls, sharing the local street food and mood of Columbia. She gave us a cultural, historical, and gastronomic introduction to Columbia on our first trip to South America! Wendy walked us at a leisurely pace to shady eating spots under spreading rubber trees and nice breezes. Oh, did I mention the food! Cheeses and sweets and seafood and breads, yum. Finished off with some local beers in a cantina with salsa music playing. Wendy was a great guide and fun and obviously enjoyed meeting folks from far lands.
