My hobby is my job, my job is my hobby! My original Hungarian surname is Orsolya, which means Ursula if you prefer. I was born in Budapest and settled down in Vienna in 1992 when I immediately fall in love with this beautiful city! I finished my master's degree at the University of Music and Performing Arts. At the same time I had the opportunity to discover how many musical, art, and architectural wonders this city has to offer. I wanted to share this experience with anyone who is visiting Vienna, so I completed the national training and received my accreditation as a licensed Austrian Tour Guide in 2003. Since then I have been guiding tours throughout Vienna and Austria in English, Hungarian, German and Portuguese. Along the way, I show you all the important historical and cultural sites of Vienna, where the former Habsburg Empire - one of the most influential rulers in Europe - had its seat for almost seven centuries-long, and where nowadays the historical traditions, the modern developments, and infrastructures are respecting each other. My enthusiasm for Vienna has many facets - as a music teacher in the music capital of the world, for instance, is an amazing experience. I am a self-employed tour guide. On this 5 hours excurcion you will experience unique medieval sights of The Vienna Woods in Lower Austria, while you will be visiting one of the oldest cistercy abbey in Europe and the oldest medival castle in Austria, bit of them from the 12. Century. For the last 1,5 hours of the tour you can choose from 3 options (see in the itinerary) The tour ends in Vienna at your hotel.
Your Vienna tour itinerary
We will drive from your hotel by car in the direction of Lower Austria, to the Vienna Woods. Our first stop will be in Heiligenkreuz, the oldest Cistercian monasteries in the world. Monks are still living and working there. They allow visitors to enjoy their holy masses while they pray by singing.From here, we will drive for 15 minutes to Maria Enzensdorf, where we will visit the former medieval seat of the Lichtenstein dynasty, which is one of the oldest aristocratic families in Europe. Behind these Romanesque styled facades, we will admire numerous medieval furnishings, weapons, beamed ceilings, reliefs, and the chapel. For the last 1.5 hour of the tour, you can choose from the following 3 options: A) visit the former private winery, combined with wine tasting of original local products B) Visit the former imperial summer house, Mayerling C) visit Gustavs Klimt house and atelier in West Vienna.
