Guide #4894
I like to think that guiding is an art form! It involves beauty, natural inclination and passion. Sharing knowledge is important but it is not enough. I believe that both me as a guide and visitors as well want to experience emotions while on tour. Verona holds the key to my heart! This where I LIVE, it is the city I LOVE. My tours are for inspired and curious visitors. I love to be pushed out of my comfort zone interacting with different people and cultures every day. My guiding style is to go beyond facts to pass on the meaning of what you see, to understand more about Verona and. . . about yourself. When you will be walking with me through this evocative town, expect to learn but also to relax, to be treated as visiting friends and to be entertained. As a true Verona resident, my mission is to leave you with a feeling for the familiar in Verona as well as what is different and special. I was born in Zurich-Switzerland but Verona really captured my soul! I have been living there for the past 30 years. I am a ToursByLocals guide since 2012. I have always had an interest in Architecture and Art, eventually I decided to study foreign literature and languages During those very formative years I had the privilege of travelling, meeting wonderful people and staying in very different places: Switzerland, France, Morocco and Singapore. I like challenges and when I have a new idea, I tend to get completely involved in every aspect of it. In the beginning I have many doubts, but once the project takes form, I am very happy to have persevered. I think I have found a balance between the passion for my work and the one for my interests: cultural anthropology, Montessori method, my family history, good friends. Sooner or later I will take a sabbatical to tour the world without leaving the ground. I only give tours in Verona and its region. Being a certified local guide means that I give tours only in the place I live and know well. IMPORTANT NOTICE: In June, July and August, due to the heat I suggest you reserve your tour of Verona in the morning whenever possible. My most popular Verona tours: - Verona in 4-hours. GUIDE CERTIFICATION # 289 (Region of Veneto) 2022 Certified Interpretive Guide by NAI - National Association for Interpretation- Fort Collins, USA 1995 Certified Tour Manager EDUCATION I graduated at the Foreign Language High School studying art, European history and literature. This seven-hour tour was half by van and half by boat. We paid a surcharge for a longer version of this tour, which was fine. We started off meeting our guide dockside in Sirmione. From there, we transferred to his van that was waiting in Peschiera, on the southeastern end of Lake Garda. Per our request, we ventured northwards to see the picturesque villages on the...
We had a wonderful time on our half-day tour with Lorella in Sirmione and Desenzano. We started off at our hotel entrance at Villa Cortine, and from there we walked to the beach at the tip of the peninsula. From there, we took a ferry to Desenzano where we enjoyed a lakeside lunch with outdoor seating. We quite enjoyed it. Afterwards, we headed to the remains of a...
My tour with Lorella in Verona was a highlight of my trip to Italy in March. Lorella was one of the best guides I’ve had. We spent a delightful day together, walking several miles starting at the stunning Roman Arena, going to the Adige River, exploring through the town, and climbing up to the Castel San Pietro which had excellent views of where we’d been. Lorella was...

Susan, thank you so much for your beautiful and thoughtful words. It was a true privilege to spend the day with you and tailor the tour to your interests. One-on-one tours are special; they allow for a truly personal connection every time. Finding such a sensitive and appreciative listener is rare, I am so glad that the 'Risotto all'Amarone' and the views from Castel San...
Lorella was fantastic guide! She was knowledgeable, engaging, and so much fun! She answered all our questions, made sure everyone could hear, shared really interesting insights into Verona’s history, and kept us laughing the whole time.
