Guide #45860
I am a full time tour guide resident in Galway city. I am interested in history, music , culture and sport and Galway has plenty of each. Galway is a medieval gem located on the shores of Galway bay and the perfect size for a walking tour. It is also situated between the unique landscape of the Burren and cliffs of Moher to the south and the scenic splendour of Connemara to the north. Both are easily accessible for day tours from the city. I am not a Galway native but often visited for the weekend and finally on one visit I just decided to stay! It is my pleasure to show visitors around the city and the surrounding areas and demonstrate why they might want to make the same decision. I am a qualified 'Failte Ireland' (Irish tourist board) regional guide for the West of Ireland and have also completed the national tour guide course. I have a BA.hons in economic and social history and an MBA from Trinity College Dublin. I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a car/mini bus and driver.

Tour was very poor. Tour guide was overly sarcastic and unprepared. There was no structure to the tour. No planned itinerary and we learned very little about the history. Tour guide is not a local.

June 2026I am sorry you did not enjoy the tour but..... There is a planned itinerary in the tour description that was followed exactly. There is a well thought out structure to the tour which progresses from the Norman beginings to the modern era and is heavily focussed on history . I am not from Galway ( as stated in my profile) but I live here and am a fully qualified guide to...
Michael was fantastic-adjusted the tour to our time constraints- lots of little pearls of information about Galway city-he was witty and very entertaining —we always use TBL when traveling and have never been disappointed-I can highly recommend Michael A+++

May 2026Thanks very much David. It was a shame about the weather but still enjoyable touring with an open and friendly group like yours.
