Guide #5355
My name is Katja, I am a licensed tour guide and dedicated travel specialist with 18 years of industry expertise and three master's degrees. Born and raised in Split, I studied in Croatia and Austria and traveled throughout Europe in my twenties. I have gained expertise in intercultural communication, arts and history. I know what makes a tour memorable: an in-depth knowledge of a highly educated guide; an intimate, flexible approach that focuses entirely on your preferences; and a relaxed, personalized pace that includes access to some cute hidden gems. Whether you want an island escape, a cultural deep dive, or a scenic nature adventure, I pride myself on my attention to detail, flexibility, and high level of service. I ensure that everyone in the group feels valued and fully immersed in the experience. What sets me apart? The unique blend of skills and experiences I bring to every journey. Beyond guiding, I have a decade of experience as a schoolteacher, giving me a natural ability to connect with children and create educational and fun experiences for families. I know how to adapt tours for different age groups, keeping younger travelers curious and engaged while allowing parents and grandparents to relax and enjoy themselves. As a published author, I offer a deeper, more meaningful perspective on Croatia’s cultural heritage and political background. I bring stories to life, connect historical narratives with contemporary changes, and provide unique insights into local settings. This combination of expertise and sensibility ensures that my tours are transdisciplinary, dynamic and inspiring. Whether traveling with children or seeking a richer cultural experience, my guests enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind journey. As a passionate equestrian and dog lover, I am happy to say that pets are welcome on all my walking tours, so you can enjoy the tour with your beloved animal companions. I can also adapt all my tours to accommodate guests with walking disabilities, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for everyone. Katja was a wonderful guide, extremely knowledgeable and nice. She was able to craft the tour to include different items of interest for me, my son, and my husband. Because of some health issues, I needed to go slowly on one part of the tour. Without our needing to ask, Katja extended the tour an extra half hour to make sure we still got to all the included places. I...

Dear Karen, thank you so much for your kind words. It was my pleasure to guide you and your family through my hometown and create the itinerary that meets your unique needs and interests. Despite your health condition you climbed 290 steps to the viewpoint, which was an admirable undertaking :) not to mention it was just a day after an extensive Pula - Split drive. Hope...

This tour is a great introduction to Split. We had a great time even though it was raining. We got to know some of the history of Split. It was great to go on this tour at the beginning of our trip as it helped us to get to know the center of Split very well.
