You will go a long way to find a bigger fan of Melbourne than yours truly. Born and bred here and aside from a few years working in London and Edinburgh I have spent my whole life in Melbourne. My career as a storyteller began as a journalist and communications specialist working in both commercial and not for profit sectors. I have mainly worked in the sports sector - consulting for Tennis Australia, Cricket Australia, the Australian Football League and running marketing and customer experience at Flemington Racecourse and the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where I ran stadium tours and the sports museum. Since 2018 I have been conducting city walking tours and sports-themed tours showcasing Melbourne's amazing and unique sporting precinct and educating and entertaining visitors about the history and cultural significance of sports to this great city. My tours offer a mix of history, humour, entertainment and awe as well as the opportunity to get active and play tennis where the legends of the Australian Open have competed or try out Australia's indigenous football code. The Great Ocean Road and Surf Coast is an area of Victoria that holds many special memories for me. My family and I have been taking our summer holidays on the coast for more than 25 years, we have been members of the Surf Lifesaving Club for many years and it is like a second home to me. I am an avid ocean swimmer and hiker and have trekked the Great Ocean Walk a number of times. I offer a unique Great Ocean Road tour that ensures you have a personalised and immersive experience that will live long in your memory. And there is nothing I love more than customising a tour to suit your specific needs and wishes.

We have participated in numerous Tours By Locals events and this was, hands down, among the best! Our guide, Ben, was terrific - knowledgeable, enthusiastic and patient. There were 6 of us in our group from the US and Ben was thorough without crushing us with details while capturing our attention. Highlights were the Australian Open facility and the Melbourne Cricket...

Hi Jay - thanks for the generous and kind review. As you probably realised i am just a little bit passionate about my city and our sports precinct so thanks for the privilege of letting me share that with you. Your crew made my day - y'all had great stories yourselves and I know your questions and curiosity in the tour's content was genuine. And laughing at my jokes is...

Ben was an incredible guide for our day in Melbourne! He greeted us at the port and made getting into the city via tram super easy. We enjoyed a walking tour of the city and the Australian Open, with Ben sharing fascinating insights along the way. He treated us to coffee at the famous Brunetti and impressed us with his extensive knowledge of Melbourne, especially its...

Hi Joan - this reply is somewhat belated but still heartfelt! I had a fantastic day with my new fellow Mets fans and it was a pleasure to show you around Melbourne and our amazing Grand Slam Australian Open. Rest assured I have been dining out on the video evidence of you saying I looked like Hugh Jackman ever since we met. I can only imagine the avalanche of bookings I...

Ben did a great job of presenting the extensive picture of the city's strength in every possible type of sports. He had a fun style, very knowledgeable and a huge supporter of his city.

Hi Cindy - thanks for your review. You were my inaugural Tours By Locals tours and while I have been tour guiding for several years I was a little nervous. Once I met your gang it was just like showing around some long lost cousins from the States (of which I have a few!).
