The Australian Open is unlike any other sporting event in Australia. In fact it is more than simply a sporting event; held right in the heart of Melbourne, for three weeks it takes over the entire city and attracts more than 1.1 million attendees. The event is held on a massive scale and to truly experience it you need to be hosted by a passionate local to not only show you around but provide the history, the context, the stories and the cultural and economic significance of this event to this great city. Tennis fans, sports fans and non-sports fans alike ... if you are visiting Melbourne during the AO you simply cannot miss this event.
