Operation Overlord from Paris by minivan or car
Since the early 90's in France, it's remarkable how some new destinations had become really popular, specially among the US visitors, this is the case of the landing beaches in Normandy.
This tour, despite the long drive, is one of my favorites; Starts at your hotel, after the morning drive we will see spots like la "la pointe du Hoc" or the american mémorial at Omaha beach. The tour can be customized, therefore I can propose several possibilites regarding the different landmarks and spots. At the end of the day we will be at the center of Paris around 7 pm, under good traffic conditions. In total 600 km, around 370 miles; I know. . . it's a long distance, but the van is big enough for 7.
La pointe du Hoc (rangers mémorial)
Omaha beach (memorials and beach)
Coleville cemetery and the visitors center.
Arromanches (artificial harbor).
Eventually and depending on our Schedule;
German battery at Longues sur mer
Juno Beach (cosy's pilbox)

It was our pleasure to have Gustavo Zarco as our Normandy guide. His comprehensive knowledge of the history of this area along with personal insights and comments, made this tour especially enjoyable. It was profoundly moving to stand on such hallowed ground and see the cliffs, the bunkers, the sea as we remembered those who fought here. The American cemetary was eerily beautiful. A very special day for us indeed. Thank you Gustavo for guiding us through with such expertise.
