I have been working as a translator with a local tour company providing tours to Cu Chi Tunnels, including dinner with veterans. I learned a lot from the questions guests were asking, and I normally put these in my tours (interesting facts, real stories, point of view. . . ) I strongly believe that tours related to the Vietnam War are not about killings, winners or losers. It's history, and we are here to learn from the past. I also love to share about the culture and lifestyle of my hometown throughout my experience I was grown up in the Mekong Delta. "When you are in Vietnam do as VietNamese do" I would love to explain to you What? Why ? and How ? to do as we do!!! . After the tour, you will have a lot of wonderful things to "put" in your pockets and bring back home!!! We enjoyed the evening with Hien. He meet us at our hotel and we took a cab to start our tour.. We tasted many different dishes in small neighborhood places. We also touched a bit on the Vietnam war. We ended by strolling through the flower market. It was interesting to be in real neighborhoods and not tourist areas. We felt like we got to see and taste the local culture.

Hien provided us with an enjoyable and educational tour. With his knowledge of Vietnam history, the tour filled our brains as well as our stomachs. Hien was very accommodating of our needs. He took us to places to eat and drink coffee that were unique in their own right. He picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, paid for taxis to and from the hotel, and was exceedingly kind and open in responding to our questions.
