Xin chao ! welcome to Vietnam. My name's Thua but you can call me Tony. I was born in Tien Giang province, Mekong Delta. However I have been living in Ho Chi Minh city ( saigon ) for 22 years. I graduated at the Foreign Language University in English. I had worked in hospitality at the different places such as Sheraton Saigon hotel & Towers, Intercontinental Saigon hotel & Residences. . . then I had been working as a freelance Guide for the past 12 years. Now I'm falling love my job. I can tell you how Vietnam is moving and changing. Welcome to Saigon, a vibrant city with a rich history. Today I am taking you to discover the most important sights of Saigon, and we will start the day with a visit to Chinatown to taste the real life of the locals. We will visit the local market where you will feel the real rhythm of this city where local merchants and farmers exchange goods transferring them to other places in Vietnam and abroad. Leaving the hustle of the lively market, you will enjoy a visit to Thien Hau Temple, this pagoda is Ho Chi Minh City's spiritual destination and one of the oldest temples in this city but I will show you the shantytowns so that you can fully experience the contrast of the city. To complete our day we will return to the city center with French architectural landmarks: General Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral. Unforgettable events in the war: Rex Hotel, Presidential Palace, On the way we will visit the CIA Building where a photo was taken in 1975 " The Fall of Saigon". Just completed a 2-day tour with Tony. Everything went smoothly as planed starting with Tony being on time picking us up. He is very knowledgeable of historical facts on each stops we made. He is very professional and yet funny making the trip more fun. I highly recommend this tour and having Tony as the tour guide.
The best thing about Tours by Locals is it offers a platform to hire private excellent tour guides that anyone will be comfortable. Tony did not disappoint. Tony was able to read us quickly as to what we expecting out of day. Tony took us to all the right spots for us, lunch was incredible not just from the taste but how we felt authentically in Vietnam. Tony was constantly reaching out to us before the tour to keep us trusting him and he and his driver kept us safe and comfortable the whole day. Our conversations gave us a chance to a least get some cultural understanding how the wonderful people of Vietnam. So thankful for that.
Another fantastic day spent with Tour By Local Guide Thua in Vietnam , he was able to pick us up at Queen Elizabeth gang plank , the drive from the port to Saigon is quite long but this is off set by the drive through the country , Thua knowledge of the history and current political climate in Vietnam was excellent . I was surprised by the efforts to make life better and the work on this was very evident , we saw old and new Saigon and topped it of with lunch for 3 at a local restaurant which now has 2 Michelin Stars and it only cost approx. $60 Aussie dollars , great day , thanks Thua and Tours By Locals .
We had a wonderful time exploring Saigon with Tony (Thua). He took us to as many places that our time in Saigon would allow. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Our pick up at the cruise port was seamless. I highly recommend him as a guide!

Going around the town , through the market to know and see about their life. * Continue to Thien Hau temple to know the religion that Chinese people bring it here and how it is affected to Vietnamese people. * Driving to the shanty place to see the contrast of Saigon city between: the stilt houses - the skyscraper. * Go back Saigon center with landmarks: Central Post Office, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera House, City Hall…These buildings in the past are still kept telling us how old Saigon is. The memorable events in the war: Rex Hotel, Presidential Palace, War remnants museum, …especially we will visit CIA building where the photo "The Fall of Saigon" was taken in 1975. ** This tour can be customized, please contact me with your questions
