Private Cu Chi Tunnels and Mekong Delta: Coconut Island Tour

We had an unforgettable day with Lee visiting the tunnels & Mekong Delta! The driver took us safe to al visiting stops. Lee informed us on the way to the tunnels about the history, not only from the books but also from his family experience. We arrived before the big crowds, it was really impressive. The second part of the day he changed the schedule a little (skipped honey and horse, add temples) on our request. We visited a Vietnamese and Buddhist temple which was very interesting and beautiful. At the Mekong he arranged a private boat to bring us to several islands and had a pleasant time. Maybe this private tour is a little more expensive then a group but in our opinion it’s really worthwhile.

We had a wonderful tour. Our guide was soft spoken and relaxed. This helped us experience the temples in a contemplative way. He is very knowledgeable and answered all out questions well. He was sensitive to the photographers in the group - giving us enough time, and pointing out the best angles. He was on time and rolled with our adjustments and requests on itinerary changes.

We spent a great day with Lee visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta in a full day trip from Saigon. Everything was scheduled perfectly. We escaped big crowds at the tunnels and the private transportation by various boats and the horse cart and the lunch arrangement worked like a precise clock. Of course the best portion was the stories that Lee told us relaying his perspectives on the Vietnam war events and on the current life in Vietnam. He also made our day more enjoyable by arranging for us at the end of the day a night cruise on Saigon river. Although it was a last minute suggestion he did his best to find and book this very interesting extra tour where we e were rewarded with a great illumination beauty of the Saigon buildings. Both he and his driver were very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. It was a perfect day with a perfect guide.

We had an amazing tour with Lee. Everything was great - we arrived quite early and avoided the crowds (which we saw when we were leaving tunnels site). He told us so many interesting facts about the war and the history of Vietnam, showed us wonderful sights and also was very positive and good-mooded, which definitely contributed to us being even happier on that day! We visited sights in his home town on Mekong Delta, he knew many people around and he was also tipping them, which also made us feel that he cares a lot about that region. This, and the fascinating tour with wonderful experiences made us very happy on that day! He is the best tour guide we had, we enjoyed it with our whole heart!

Lee was absolutely wonderful!!! He went above and beyond to provide the best experience for us. His knowledge of the culture, regional information and history was incredible. We saw the tunnels in Cu Chi, where he shared personal insight through family experiences with the war and then the Mekong River region where he resides. It gave us an up close look through the lens of a local. Lunch was fantastic, as were the boat rides and horse and carriage ride. You won’t be disappointed with this tour!

We have been to many countries worldwide and taken many tours but all I can say about Lee is WOW!! He is not only the sweetest guy, so helpful so informative but goes above and beyond at all times to make you feel 100% special. The fact that he has trained other tour guides in history of Vietnam and has personal connections to the culture made the day absolutely perfect in every way! We left earlier to get a head start and it was planned to perfection! BOOK LEE!!! do not consider anyone else. AMAZING DAY!
