Hello! Think of me as your new New York friend with lots of insider recommendations beyond your tour. Here's a video to get to know me a little better, along with a tour of some lesser-known NYC sites: https://youtu.be/Ht7iqfj74v0?si=ntzXOGQE9n5DYIxs New York is one of the great cities of the world, and I love showing off its history, buildings, stories, and secrets—including New Yorkers' favorite places to dine, drink, shop, and relax. Ever since I moved here 30 years ago, I've been leading intimate tours for family, friends, and now for visitors like you as a licensed New York City tour guide. A little more about me: I am an educator and event planner by training, so my job and passion are to create exciting and meaningful experiences for you and your group to learn about the city and why it is so incredible. I've lived in many New York neighborhoods, been a student at NYU, written books, taught at Columbia University, spent time with celebrities, and lived through 9/11—all of which enrich my knowledge of New York's unique culture, customs, and craziness. My Focus: Greenwich Village has been home for most of my New York life, so I lead lots of tours in this popular neighborhood that includes Washington Square, Christopher Street, Little Island, and the Meatpacking District. Another favorite place for tours is Central Park. It is an engineering and environmental marvel, and New York would be unlivable without it. We also have many other beautiful parks which are great launchpads for learning about and discovering the areas of the city that surround them. And then there's the magnificent Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the reborn World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial, and many other famous places in between that will give you an understanding and sense of New York then and now. Your Interests: I also want to know about what you and your fellow travelers would like to do so that I can design a fun and memorable experience for you. As you consider your time in New York, don't hesitate to contact me with your questions and ideas for customizing a tour to match your goals and schedule. Thanks for your interest and let's have an amazing NYC walk and experience soon! Experience this powerful combination of two of New York's most important areas—conveniently next to each other. First, we'll walk the narrow streets of the Financial District, the birthplace of New Amsterdam (the original name of New York) and the American financial system. Seeing this neighborhood is like stepping back in time, and into movies and TV, where you'll see Wall Street, the New York Stock Exchange and more consequential sites up close. We'll then take a quick walk up Broadway to the World Trade Center, a 16-acre site just off the Hudson River that includes the Freedom Tower, Oculus and the moving 9/11 Memorial Fountains and Glade. I'll share remarkable stories of that tragic day, and you'll witness the continuing metamorphosis of the area from unimaginable ruins to a thriving hub of business, transportation and remembrance. This tour does not include the 9/11 Museum, but you can easily reserve museum tickets online to see September 11th artifacts and hear stories from survivors and heroes.
Planned itinerary includes: • Wall Street • Alexander Hamilton Custom House • Charging Bull • New York Stock Exchange • Federal Hall, location of the first US Congress and George Washington's Inauguration • Freedom Tower • 9/11 Memorial Fountains and Glade • Survivor Tree • Oculus • St. Paul's Chapel
