Hello! Think of me as your new New York friend with lots of insider recommendations beyond your tour. Here's a video to get to know me a little better, along with a tour of some lesser-known NYC sites: https://youtu.be/Ht7iqfj74v0?si=ntzXOGQE9n5DYIxs New York is one of the great cities of the world, and I love showing off its history, buildings, stories, and secrets—including New Yorkers' favorite places to dine, drink, shop, and relax. Ever since I moved here 30 years ago, I've been leading intimate tours for family, friends, and now for visitors like you as a licensed New York City tour guide. A little more about me: I am an educator and event planner by training, so my job and passion are to create exciting and meaningful experiences for you and your group to learn about the city and why it is so incredible. I've lived in many New York neighborhoods, been a student at NYU, written books, taught at Columbia University, spent time with celebrities, and lived through 9/11—all of which enrich my knowledge of New York's unique culture, customs, and craziness. My Focus: Greenwich Village has been home for most of my New York life, so I lead lots of tours in this popular neighborhood that includes Washington Square, Christopher Street, Little Island, and the Meatpacking District. Another favorite place for tours is Central Park. It is an engineering and environmental marvel, and New York would be unlivable without it. We also have many other beautiful parks which are great launchpads for learning about and discovering the areas of the city that surround them. And then there's the magnificent Grand Central Terminal, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, the reborn World Trade Center, 9/11 Memorial, and many other famous places in between that will give you an understanding and sense of New York then and now. Your Interests: I also want to know about what you and your fellow travelers would like to do so that I can design a fun and memorable experience for you. As you consider your time in New York, don't hesitate to contact me with your questions and ideas for customizing a tour to match your goals and schedule. Thanks for your interest and let's have an amazing NYC walk and experience soon! We'll walk around the World Trade Center and surroundings streets to tell the story of one of the most shocking and tragic events in US history. Along the way, we'll visit the memorial to the more than 6,000 people who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and since that day from 9/11-related illnesses. We'll then focus on the rebuilding of this vital area of Lower Manhattan—a metamorphosis that continues today. I was in New York on September 11th and just one mile north of the Twin Towers. I will share my 9/11 experiences and during the weeks and months following that terrible morning. This tour does not include the 9/11 Museum, but you can easily visit the museum after our tour to see artifacts from Ground Zero and hear more stories about the 9/11 victims and heroes. Timed tickets are available on the official National September 11th Memorial and Museum website.
Planned itinerary includes: • 9/11 Memorial Fountains and Glade • Freedom Tower (One World Trade Center) • Survivor Tree • Firefighters Memorial • St. Paul's Chapel • The Oculus • Rebuilt subway station • The Sphere (recovered sculpture between the Twin Towers) • St. Nicholas Church
