"Madame Lily Devalier always asked 'Where are you?' in a way that insinuated that there were only two places on earth one could be: New Orleans and somewhere ridiculous. " ― Tom Robbins, Jitterbug Perfume Madame Devalier can certainly be forgiven. My first arrival in New Orleans, more than 30 years ago, was memorable for two reasons: It was the day I made my home here, and the day I fell in love with this irresistible town. There is much here to love: The agreeable climate, the teeming gardens, the ornate streetscapes, and the most hospitable people in the world, all surrounded, as it turns out, by the most civilized small city in the New World. The rich, fragrant essences of hospitality, authenticity and celebration infuse the very air, and inform every aspect of our lives, even in the face of adversity and loss. Over the course of my long career in the hotel industry, my life's work has rewarded me with countless opportunities to welcome you, the intrepid and curious pilgrim, to the Creole City and to what my favorite singer/songwriter, Mr. John Boutte, intones as the "Eternal Now". It is, by any measure, a labor of deep and abiding love for my one true home. Here's some truth: The difference between a tourist and an honored guest is the right host. Playing that role is the path to my bliss, and I hope you will think of me not only as your host, but as your faithful guide and friend. This mysterious metropole has much more to offer than space permits here, so check out my tour links. Want more? I am always happy to prepare a custom itinerary that I guarantee you'll love! 'Til then: Safe travels! PS: If you've read this far and you're still with me, say "Hi". I'm sure we'll pass a good time! Overview of your New Orleans tour

The Crescent City is home to more working "creatives" per capita than any other city in America. Since the early 18th century, her irresistible story has been propelled by the formidable powers of her creative class: The poets, authors, painters, musicians, seers, chefs, undertakers, innkeepers, and performers of all stripes and types. On this excursion, we will uncover and thoroughly appreciate some of America's indispensable treasures, in the most cosmopolitan small city in the New World, while basking in the powerful charms that make her so.

Stephen G. is THE guide to engage for a comfy full-city A/C-available tour of NOLA. He's a fountain of knowledge in so many ways: art, architecture, history, geography, culture, current politics... There was not a question he could not credibly address...and he answered SO many of our "mental inquiries" pre-emptively, eg "who manufactured all this outstanding wrought iron," OR "who maintains these graves," OR "tell us about VooDoo in NOLA historically and today" OR "who built/resides in 'this' gorgeous historic home".. "Where did Anne Rice live/write" ....etc. The tour is VERY comprehensive in covering many parishes in comfort w. fascinating stops along the way. Stephen has a true talent for comprehensive narration while driving. You will be thrilled by this tour. "I gar-un-tee."

The tour was good and Stephen G. knew all the things to cover in 4hrs. However, very difficult to ask a question, we could not get in a word to ask a question. I had to raise my hand.

Stephen was a joy to spend an afternoon with! He’s so knowledgeable about not just New Orleans today but also the history and development of the city. He brings a true love of the city to his tour. We covered everything from a beautiful cemetery and how it’s used to the local flora. He shared the joys of Mardi Gra and the struggles of the hurricanes, which he has first hand experience surviving. He taught us about the politics and evolution of the wards. Overall a wonderful experience with a great man.
