I am a native to New Orleans (3 Generations on my mother's side, 5 Generations on my father's side) that's excited to do what all host LOVE to do, may guest enjoy their home. My very first tour was conducted by my grandfather, who was a Native Choctaw Indian that bestowed the LOVE of this city into me. So when I give a tour of my city, I can feel him just smiling upon me. I have the grace of living in other places all over the world, being in the United States Navy, yet the only place in the world that I can truly call home is New Orleans. New Orleans has a way of getting into the soul and making anyone feel at home with themselves. With all the tours that I give, I want that feeling to exude from every fiber of my being. All of my tours are a mixture of all the books that I've read about this city, local legend, and (of course) my grandfather folklore that I lean on. All 3 different aspects of understanding give this city it's Mystique, Magic, Allure and Grace. I do my best to capture these parts in the Graciousness of New Orleans. New Orleans, with it's enslaved & torched past has one of the most interesting stories of all of America. A past that includes history that's older than most places of America. With all this history, movements and shifts, New Orleans is bound to be one city that will blow you away with all the events happening in this small area. All of the knowledge acquired has been checked, doubled checked and most times tripled checked to ensure that every word is accurate, thrilling and knowledgeable.
Keynin was extremely knowledgeable and well resourced. He focused o. The people that made New Orleans that aren’t always talked about. He focused on the women and former enslaved people that played important roles in creating the city we experience today. Highly recommended.
We wanted a tour that offered an honest readout on history, as gritty and painful as some parts are. Keynin is a fantastic story teller but also welcomed questions to explore topics off of his normal narrative. He was warm in his humanity and passionate about New Orleans history. We loved our time with him and recommend his service.
Keynin was an absolute expert tour guide. He was so thorough and knowledgeable, providing historical insights, colorful stories, and personal stories. He connected events and locations throughout the tour weaving an arc of the beauty and complexity of New Orleans. It was so entertaining I completely lost track of time. Five stars.
Keynin's tour was so fun and informative! We were visiting New Orleans with our kids (12 and 15) and wanted to get some context for the city we were experiencing. This tour did exactly that! We obviously had our kids with us, but Keynin managed to hit the potentially darker bits of the local history in a way that told the story, but didn't freak them out. He's a great storyteller and a genuinely good person. He also gave us great restaurant and music tips for later in our visit. Highly recommend!
