I am proud to be born and raised in New Orleans! My love for this city runs deep, and started with my grandfather's dream of owning a piece of its reputation for world-renowned food. He and my grandmother started Short Stop Po-Boys in a small grocery store over 50 years ago, and it has been a part of our family and local community ever since. Bringing people together was something that was so important to them, and they made sure that passion lived with every one of us. I remember sitting around listening to him share stories about how it all began, and those are some of the memories I hold most dear. They are also just the thing that sparked my never-ending curiosity! Over the years, owing much of it to my father, I've developed a sincere love for history, and there is no shortage of it in New Orleans! I spent 15 years in luxury hospitality which took me to other destinations all over the United States, and then the historical roots of the city came calling. With the support of family, friends, and other historians, I've found my way to being a professional guide, and have never looked back! Now as a grateful husband and father of 3, I instill that same excitement in my own family for our unique culture, and its incredibly rich beginnings. With every guest, my true goal is that you return home with a deeper understanding and love for the spirit of New Orleans. I do everything I can to make sure that happens! -Licensed Tour Guide -Licensed For-Hire Vehicle Operator -CPNC Certified by the City of New Orleans -Owner of La Vie New Orleans Private Tours

Adventure outside the city in the comfort of a private vehicle to a historic plantation! This is an excellent way to see the rural Mississippi River Delta, learn about the economy and architecture of a sugarcane plantation, and see the experiences of the thousands of people who were enslaved in the area. Regardless of the home you choose, you will tour the home itself, the grounds and gardens, and anything additional it has to offer! As a native, local guide, I will make sure you get an insider's perspective of this rich part of our history. I do give you the option to choose: * Laura, a Creole Plantation, with 11 structures listed on the National Register. * Houmas House, restored to the antebellum era, reflecting the opulence and wealth this sugarcane farm boasted in the 1800s. * Destrehan Plantation, established in 1787 and remains the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi Valley. * Oak Alley Plantation, from its 28 Oaks to its open spaces, to its hidden nooks and crannies.
- First, we will travel away from the city through the scenic wetlands of the Mississippi River delta. - Outside the city, we make our way to the banks of the Mississippi River. - In the areas upstream of New Orleans, we will explore one plantation home of your choice. - During the plantation visit, you will learn about the history and architecture of the main home and spend a good amount of time delving into the struggle of many who were enslaved on plantations in the area. - We will learn about the economics of how a sugar farm operated before modern machinery and the lifestyles of rural South Louisiana. - Lastly, we will return back into the city, where I can drop you off at your hotel or other location you prefer. - These experiences are customized and I am happy to help you make a selection!
