Half Day New Orleans "Jazz The First Days" Tour

The "Jazz The First Days" Half Day Tour is informative, completely outside of the norm and lots of fun! On this tour you will immerse yourself in the sounds of New Orleans Jazz as we travel around the city. We will stop at various historical sites along the way including Congo Square located at Louis Armstrong Park, where Africans played the first jazz rhythms in the 1700's. As we stroll through Armstrong Park past the sculptures of the Jazz Pioneers I will tell you the true stories of these great Jazz makers including their ups and downs, triumphs and tragedies. We will also travel off the beaten path to the dance halls and homes where the great pioneers of jazz lived and played their instruments. You will hear stories and understand why the "old people" wanted Jazz to go away, while the young people screamed more! My objective is to give you a clear understanding of Jazz history and expose you to places you will not visit on any other tour. We will also break for lunch and return to your place of lodging.
