I am thirty six year resident of New Orleans. I love to share the history, beautiful sights, culture and the stories of the Crescent City. I have brought visitors from all over the world around our unique city. I love to get folks off the beaten path and into the neighborhoods and give you an insiders look at New Orleans. I am an officially licensed guide through the City. I do walking, driving and combination walking/driving tours. My vehicle is a comfortable Honda Odyssey, licensed and insured with the City of New Orleans. My basic tour is a walking tour of the Quarter & surrounding neighborhoods. But don't stop there! If you have something specific on your mind or want something unique to I can create custom tours. Perhaps you have just one day, we can see all the highlights. Or perhaps an excursion into City Park to walk through the beautiful Live Oaks, funky art galleries or historical neighborhood tour. What about a Night our for music? a carefully curated evening with the best live local music and drinks. I have a background in the culinary arts and I especially love telling the history of New Orleans from a culinary perspective. I can share with you ideas for other wonderful restaurants to dine at during your stay or take you to get my favorite gumbo. I have an in depth knowledge of our general history; the French period, Spanish period and the native people that where here before Bienville arrived. I can speak about Mardi Gras and the unique traditions of the Mardi Gras Indians- the African American Mardi Gras. I especially love the flora & fauna of the area, the history of jazz music; including Congo Square, where the enslaved people played their drums, bringing these rhythms of Africa to the so called "new world". I can speak about the beautiful architecture and our city's funky streets. In addition to taking visitors around and showing them the marvels of my beloved city, work closely with the city's artists & musicians. I am in communication with the chefs, artists, musicians - the movers & shakers of the Crescent City. I will give you a real insiders feel for New Orleans! Official Licensed & insured New Orleans Tour Guide Sightseeing Permit - City of New Orleans Licensed, inspected & insured touring van: accommodates up to 6 guests CPNC License, SS-140 (a note on pricing: my prices are higher because my costs to have proper licensing and insurance - it also insures your safety and peace of mind!) We'll begin in the picturesque French Quarter, where the history began over 3 centuries ago. Following in the footsteps of the first French explorers who were lead by the Native Americans we'll head out the old portage road. Today, we call that portage road Esplanade Avenue lined with stunning Creole mansions. The Bayou St. John area settlements predate the French Quarter. We'll drive along the Bayou we will discuss the historic homes and the native people that lived here predating the French colonists. We will continue into City Park. Inside the park there is a majestic grove of ancient live oak. We'll stroll under the trees, take time for photographs and soak it in. Bonus! the best coffee & beignets in the city- is in city park.
