"You are the eyes of tourists" one of my guests said to me. After visiting 40 countries around the world, I decided to become a tour guide of my home country - Taiwan. For past 20 years, I was eager to see the other part of the world. I tried my best to travel around. When traveling couldn't satisfied me, I spent a year in the UK in order to know more about local life and also received my Master degree. One day, I realized what I was looking for is not from outside, but it is actually inside my home country — Taiwan is no less beautiful but very unknown. I think it's time to tell you this hidden gem. Please come and travel with me! It makes big difference who you travel with. We can talk about Taiwan and/or exchange our travel stories! One Canadian lady (who is the owner of a chocolate and organic tea house in Kyoto, Japan) told me : you have very sensitive eyes! After I showed her a special photo I took in her wonderful tea house. A British friend once said to me: You are unique! Yes, I'm unique :-) I've been to many places, not only Europe and the US, but also Iran, Sri Lanka, Morocco, Myanmar, Lao. . . on my own or with a friend. Those experience made me see things in different way and that's why I can write travel articles (now I write articles about arts and culture) for the top 1 newspapers in Taiwan. The places listed in the tours might be similar to others, but I am the one who made it different! Please come and travel with me. You will love Taiwan as I do! PS. 1. I was majored in computer and trained/did coding for 10 years. I had been working for airline / national tourism board / travel agency, and now even as a tour guide, I am different from other tour guides who is just a tour guide ;) PS. 2. Tour guide is my main job. My 2nd job is tour leader. In summer, I often escort student group to study English overseas. Spend 3 to 4 weeks in England/London or Boston/New York. My 3rd job is writing articles (including taking photos) for the leading news paper in Taiwan. It's a full page articles printed on the newspaper (not a internet blog which anyone can write). If you are interested, I'm more than happy to show you the collections of my favorite clippings! PS. 3. Where have I been to? The countries I have visited including Singapore X 14 times The UK X 14 Japan X 13 The USA X 7 Malaysia X 7 Germany X 5 Indonesia X 4 Thailand X 4 France X 4 Australia X 3 Holland X 3 Austria X 3 Turkey X 2 Italy X 2 Spain X 2 Slovenia X 2 Portugal X 2 Cambodia X 2 Vietnam X 2 Following are only once: Iran / Myanmar / Nepal / Lao / Sri Lanka / Morocco / Maldives / Guam / Palau / Philippine / H. K. / Macau / Czech / Vatican / Belgian / Canada / Kenya / Zimbabwe / Zambia / Botswana I used to have a full time office job so it was not easy to do all those trips. . . . I really tried my best :) PS. 4. Tour Guide (Inbound) License in English / Mandarin since 2008. Tour Leader (Outbound) License in English / Mandarin / Japanese since 2006. MSc degree in eTourism, University of Surrey (UK) - Awarded Chevening scholarship by British Office 2011 Taiwan Tourism Elite Selection and Overseas Training Program at University of Hawaii (Tourism Executive Study Program) Writing Travel Articles / Art and Culture Articles (Full page) for the Top 1 newspaper in Taiwan. I am not a driver so most of my tours including a charter car/van with a professional driver.

If you only have few hours free time or just want to see the different side of Taipei city, a walking tour might meet your need. Meet up at your hotel inside Taipei City. A. Visit a temple and/or a morning market. B. go up to 89F of Taipei 101 to see the city from the top! C. Visit old street or small alley with Cafes and shops. PS1. Depends on your hotel location, we can go by metro, bus or taxi. PS2. The itinerary is very flexible. We can change according to your needs. PS3. If you want more than 3 hrs, for the extra hrs, it is US50/per hour.
This is a tour for someone who don't have a full day to discover Taipei or you have already seen the most famous landmarks and now want to see the local life area. For those who haven't seen the most famous attractions, we can visit a temple to meet the local Gods. Following by a market to see what kind of food Taiwan have and local people buy. If time allowed, we can visit another famous landmark such as CKS memory hall or Taipei 101. For those who have seen above, we can visit an oldest street in Taipei full of traditional medicine/dry food and cafes. Choose a cafe and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee after walking for hours!
