We had an excellent visit to some off-the-beaten-path locations in Taipei, all customized for us by our guide, Roro, whose English is excellent. Communication with WhatsApp worked perfectly. With a private driver, we visited Tongariro National Park and captured the hydrangeas in full bloom — absolutely stunning! Roro took us to a wonderful local spot for lunch that was packed with local hikers. The food was outstanding, especially the "Mountain Chicken" specialty. She has a real skill for ordering the best local dishes. We also visited the Jade Market, the Flower Market, the memorial, and a temple. And — impressively — she even managed to get my husband's Samsung phone repaired at a local shop during the tour! Roro never minded all my questions about life in Taiwan; she shared her perspectives with ease, grace, and humor. After the tour, Roro followed-up with helpful recommendations for dining and other places to visit in Taipei. We're already wondering: can we take her with us to Tainan?!
