A tour from Zurich to the Valley of the Falls and Interlaken.
Overview of your Zurich tour
We will go to one of the most magical and dramatic places in Switzerland, called the Valley of the Waterfalls, a hidden gem in the Swiss Alps. On the way, we will make a stop to admire an emerald green mountain lake and take some great photos. Our picture-postcard journey continues through the breathtaking landscape. Then we walk along a narrow path through a 130-metre high gorge, with the milk-green river, flowing rapidly below your feet. We leave the cool shaded gorge and take a typical cogwheel train up the mountainside. We are met with the breathtaking vision of the waterfall. British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle actually loved the place so much, he chose it as the setting of Sherlock Holmes' death. Our next waterfall is nestled in a forest. You have the chance to go behind the waterfall and feel the crisp clean water on your face. Nearby a delightful café offers hot & cold drinks to take in its fantastic views of Lake Brienz. The tourist haven of Interlaken is the next stop. Get ready!

My main objective in booking this tour was to see Reichenbach Falls, even though I knew there might not be water in it, and the funicular railway taking people to the base of the falls shut down a week before our arrival. Our guide, Lidia M., understood this and warned me that it might not be possible, yet she would try. She went above and beyond driving us up a narrow winding road to a restaurant above the falls, and even though it was very cloudy and raining, she went with me down a very, very steep pathway to a bridge over the falls for a spectacular view!! We also visited Staubbach Falls and the town above the valley by train. A wonderful trip that fulfilled a lifelong dream of seeing Reichenbach.

Lidia is an amazing guide, extremely knowledgeable, great coordination, maximizing the experience and perfect in adjusting the experience to what she quickly assessed we would enjoy most. Absolutely worth the experience! Our only concern is we are at the start of our two week vacation and fear Lidia just made it the highlight of our two weeks already!
