I also enjoy reading and spend a lot of time in the library studying ancient documents and works by historians. I'm married and have two adult sons. Overview of your Zurich tour
The day begins with a stroll through the picturesque town of Appenzell where you can buy some traditional souvenirs and take photos of the houses’ colourful facades. In the summer we can take a cable car up to the Alps, walk through a cave and see one of the oldest mountain restaurants in Switzerland – Aescher or have a walk to a waterfall. In the wintertime we can admire the unique library in St. Gallen and walk around the city. Then we are going to visit the Appenzell cheese factory. What's special about this cheese is the secret mixture of Alpine herbs used. You can smell these herbs, touch them and even take a small bag away with you! There we can enjoy the best cheese lunch in Switzerland; choose from raclette, fondue or a cheese platter. Next stop is one of the oldest Swiss chocolate factories, Maestrani, which is the only one where you can see for yourself how they make their chocolate! If you want, you can create your own chocolate bar and take it home as a great souvenir!
Your Zurich tour itinerary
I’ll pick you up at your hotel in my spacious panoramic car. After 1.5 hours driving through typical Swiss countryside, we arrive in Appenzell for a walk around the village. After finding out how Swiss cheese is produced, we’ll have a cheesy lunch but skip dessert! A 30-minute drive away is our visit to the Maestrani chocolate factory. Relax and take in the magnificent views on your 1.5-hour drive back to Zurich.
