Grüezi, Bonjour, Buongiorno, Allegra Hikers and nature lovers, join me on fascinating trips through unique Swiss landscapes, wilderness and mountains and maybe have the possibility to see wildlife in their natural habitat, to hear roaring waterfalls and to listen to the fresh snow crunching under the snowshoes. Follow me on these great adventures. My name is Markus. I am a born and bred Swiss and have been living all my life by the lake of Zurich. I have been hiking since I was a small child and decided to turn my beloved hobby into profession. I passed hiking trainings in the Grisons and Valais (school affiliated to ASAM). I see it as a great opportunity to share with you my knowledge and my experience as a hiking Leader with Federal Diploma of Professional Education. I am covering the Swiss landscapes and mid-range mountains with groups all year round, which means not only I'm guiding people on beautiful hikes but also to fantastic snowshoe tours all around Switzerland whose most parts I know like the palm of my hand. Apart from being a hiking guide, I have successfully passed the Swiss Ranger training and hold now the title of a Ranger with diploma BZW Lyss, Switzerland. With this certificate in my hands I can be a better guide. The ranger is a contact person between human and nature (wild life, environment, flora, fauna) and cares for a sustainable natural balance. This is also a part of my job as vice president of the Snowshoe Association of Switzerland where I am developing snowshoe trails which are safe for the user, respectful of wild life, forest, environment and nature. In 2012, I passed the GeoGuide training which enriched my experience as a hiking guide with more geological skills. I have been a hiking and snowshoeing guide since many years, my strengths are having and taking the time to lead participants as you to beautiful landscapes, places one can see wild life in its natural environment, being patient and versatile, sharing my knowledge of geography - I know Switzerland from east to west, north to south-, history and culture and I speak 5 languages. Here we have an excellent and very efficient public transportation, you will not need a car to go on my trips. Everywhere I will take you we can rely on them; especially in the mountains it is easier to travel by train, busses, cable car, chairlift etc. In addition, it gives us full liberty of our journey and to alternate routes. Join me on a fantastic Swiss hike! We may even celebrate this occasion with a marvelous Swiss fondue! - Hiking Leader with Federal Diploma of Professional Education and Training - Ongoing advanced training in first aid, avalanche, orientation, general security etc. - Hiking and Snowshoeing Trainings ASAM/UIMLA (Union of International Mountain Leader Associations), BAW - Ranger with diploma BZW Lyss, Switzerland - GeoGuide Sardona (Unesco heritage region) - Training courses in tourism - Swiss Federal Certificate for Adult Trainers - IT trainer - Master Instructor Microsoft Office - PC Supporter SIZ

Flumserberg is a hiker's paradise with over 100km of hiking trails in intact natural surroundings high over the Walensee. Seen from a distance, the Spitzmeilen resembles a small volcano. Up close, though, it turns out to be an imposing, rocky peak, evenly shaped and from this vantage point a unique panorama opens up around you. We will take the cable car to the summit of the Maschgenkamm at 2, 020 m above sea level. On the way, you can already see the peak of the Spitzmeilen in the distance, dominating the horizon. The hike goes over alpine meadows, mountain brooks and streams. You will be rewarded with a magnificent panorama encompassing the majestic Churfirsten, Glarner and Bündner Alps. At midday, we will be reaching Alp Fursch where we will enjoy a local lunch in a cosy mountain hut and you have the possibility to buy local mountain cheese. The hike continues on a wide footpath and finally descending comfortably back to the valley by cable car.
Meeting place: Zurich at the train station or to your convenience This daily hike will be approx. 4-5 hours with altitude differences from 200 to 300m. We will have plenty of time to do photos, view the beautiful flowers and the astonishing panorama. Since there are various possibilities of hikes in this region, I can adapt the length and level of this hike to your convenience. Bus and train back to Zurich train main station. You will need: - good hiking shoes with a good profile - hiking sticks might be helpful (I can supply you with them) I will take you on a 4-5 hour hiking tour of Flumserberg region. This hike will take place from Mid June until mid of October (depending on snow).
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
To and from the Flumserberg/Maschgenkamm we will use public transportation.
