On the steps of Dracula - Brasov, Bran and Sighisoara

Our guide David was exceptionally knowledgeable. It was a very cold 40° as we headed out to Bran Castle. Because I love to learn and have read a great deal of information about the area and its key historic and cultural features. I was thrilled as our guide expanded into the topics surrounding the local history that I was so fascinated with. With a positive and humorous attitude, David managed to impart what might’ve been in an entire college course to us during our multifaceted tour. If you love history, culture, tales of derring-do, hi jinx, and I’ve always wondered exactly why Vlad the Impaler was called the Impaler that this tour with David is certainly for you. David was an absolute joy as our tour guide around the Transylvania area! He made a personalized vampire trip for us from Bran, to Sighisoara, then Brasov and back exploring the historical sites related to Vlad 'Dracula' Tepes the Impaler. We visited many gorgeous castles, churches, and other sites where David provided extensively detailed and entertaining information revolving around the three separate cities and the legend of Dracula (and his impaling of course)! A particular personal highlight was we got to visit the actual childhood house of Vlad, which is now a lovely restaurant, where we ate a delicious lunch. David was extremely knowledgable, kind, and unexpectedly hilarious with his multiple history jokes! He is a must have booking for any vampire/Transylvania tour and we will definitely be hiring him again for any future Romania trips!

I hired David to take us to the village of my grandmother's birth. He was fantastic in talking to villagers, finding someone to unlock the church and cemetery. He also told us much history of Transylvania and took us to Sighisoara and Vistra as part of our all day tour. His English was excellent and he drove a nice SUV with plenty of room. We agreed on the itinerary in advance but he let us set the pace especially to stay in the village as long as we wanted. I highly recommend David.

The trip to Bran castle and the stories about Vlad the Impaler also the visit to the old town in Sighișoara can make us imagine what life would be like during the medieval era.
