"Buna ziua" and a warm welcome from beautiful Transylvania in the heart of Romania! I am Florin, an authorized tour guide who was born in Brașov and still lives here with my family. I love Transylvania and the rest of Romania and would welcome the chance to show you our beautiful sites and culture. I graduated school and university studies in Brasov. After finishing the national touristic guide course, I started practicing this profession. I lived the experience of communism during my childhood, I passed through the events of the Revolution in 1989 and the difficult years of transition which was to come and now, here I am, having this wonderful and exciting profession of telling the travellers all over the world about this beautiful, full of history and tormenting country, Romania. I was lucky to have been born and lived in Brasov, a multicultural city with a special touristic potential, thanks to its geographical position in Transylvania, in the middle of the country, surrounded by mountains, with a rich history and a medieval architecture. I will tell you stories about all these things during our tours together. I practice only private tours, with my own car or in case of a family or a more numerous group (but not more than 8 people), I will rent a minibus. I'm waiting to join and guide you in Brasov, Transylvania! I graduated Transilvania University from Brasov (technical faculty) and I am a licensed national tour guide.

This is a tour of the most famous castles close to Brasov: - Peles Castle - former Summer residence of Romanian Royal Family. From Brasov, the way climbs up on Predeal Pass, ex border between Transylvania and Valahia, Busteni, a place with a picturesque panoramic view of the Bucegi Mountains. After visiting Peles complex in Sinaia, made up of Peles and Pelisor Castles, we will pass through mountains again in Transylvania to. . . . - Bran Castle, the most popular castle from Romania, founded by Teuton Knights too and improved along the centuries by local population. It was used to defend the Bran Pass, the gate between Transylvania and Valahia. The likeness with Dracula Castle is well known.
Sitting in your house in Texas trying to find a private guide in Brasov, Romania, can be a daunting task. We are so grateful to have found Florin. Florin was on time, picked me up as close to my airbnb as possible, greeted me with a smile, was patient and understanding to my severe hearing loss that he even pulled over so he could teach me the history of the castles so I could understand him, spoke clearly, speaking excellent English, Florin gave me plenty of time to explore the castles ,I was not rushed at all, he even purchased the entry ticket for me when I was unable to access the website saving my place to get in because Peles castle quickly sold out for the available time slot. This trip with Florin and Toursbylocals was definitely the highlight of my entire vacation and I would definitely recommend Toursbylocals and especially Florin to anyone who is interested. Peleş castle is a MUST, the interior is mind blowing
I spent the day with Florin visiting 2 Castles (Peles and Bran). Florin was an absolute pleasure to be with for the day. He was on time and from the time he picked me up until he dropped me off, he was so interesting and knowledgeable about his hometown and about the history of Romania. As we drove in his comfortable car over mountains and through quaint villages, he answered all my questions about anything I asked him. The castles were amazing, each in their own way. Thank you for such an amazing day.
This is a great way to see both Bran and Peles castles. Florin explained the route we would take and the history of the area we were traveling through. He has a great deal of knowledge about the area and the historic sites we visited.
