Hi, my name is Liviu and I am a licensed national tour guide living in Brasov, the geographical heart of the country and Romania's tourist capital, "probably the best city in the world", as many of the cosy open-air restaurants of the Old Town claim. About 10 years of offering guided walking or panoramic tours to large groups, as well as to smaller ones or families recommend my services, relying on quality of the information, flexibility or customizability and a "human touch", starting from the idea that what a tourist wants is both being offered a rich and valid story, and receiving a nice time in the chosen location. There exists availability for transporting small groups (3-4 persons)by car to famous tourist destinations within a couple of hours' reach from Brasov, to experience the glamour of Transylvania, so much appreciated by Prince Charles, among others, to enjoy the dynamism of the Romanian capital- Bucharest or to walk in the footprints of the Romanian Royal Family. For all these reasons, you are given a warm welcome to visit us! I'm a bachelor of English and Romanian at the University of Bucharest, and licensed as a National Tour Guide #2602. Driving license. As a Romanian licensed national guide, there are limitations to guiding inside some museums, such as the Cotroceni Palace or the House of Parliament in Bucharest, or the Peles Castle in Sinaia, in the Prahova Valley.

It is always hard to give an 'essential core' of something, and the basics of tourism in a certain country make no exception. However, Southern Transylvania- with places like Sibiu, Brasov, Sighisoara and Alba-Iulia, and Northern Wallachia, with Curtea de Arges Monastery and Targoviste, both connected by the Transfagarasan road, are generally regarded as clear must-see destinations when one visits Romania. This tour attempts to bring all this together in an unforgettable bunch of local fragrances.
We start from Bucharest, Ploiesti, or Brasov, driving first to one old Wallachian capital- Targoviste- to visit the remnants of Vlad the Impaler's princely court, then to Curtea de Arges, to admire the wonderful local monastery, heading then to crossing the Fagaras Mountains through the scenic Transfagarasan Road, not before climbing to the Poienari Fortress ruins, shelter of Vlad III, nicknamed Dracula. Once in Transylvania, after breathtaking views, the sights of Sibiu, once European Capital of Culture, are waiting, to close the day by arriving in Alba-Iulia, the white medieval Transylvanian capital. The next day gets us to two Saxon peasant fortresses- Biertan and Viscri, part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, embracing the visit to Sighisoara, a medieval still inhabited citadel of a particular charm. The return through Brasov, the geographical heart of the country, then back over the Carpathians, sends us back to the start-off point, richer in memories to cherish.
