Hello: welcome to the holy land of the Incas My name is Wilfredo, I was born in a Andean village (ancahuasi ) located 22 miles away from Cuzco city , I spend my entire childhood with my family and participated in a lot of activities of agriculture , where I was able to understand of how hard the life is in the countryside , that's way I decided to move myself to Cuzco city in order to work and study at the same time . While I was studying tourism I used to work as a porter on the Inca trail on weekends where I could learn more about the needs of the customers and dedicate my soul , time , heart and life to learn history and archaeology of my region to finally share with you. when visiting the capital of the Inka impire ( cusco ) , one of the most exciting and pleasant moments will be doing some excursions and one these options is a tour to maras moray and salt mines where you will have an especial and unique experience . let me take to Maras town and discover the pretty village with brick family houses and stone portrait doors founded and planned by Spanish as many cities that one can still see in Spain , at the same stop and visit the Salt mines also called as salineras another stunning place with its salt pools which was used by many generations and still nowdays to get the famous pink salt all at the end we will have and oportunity to stop at Chinchero village to explore its archeological Site and visit its textiles centers for a demonstration weaving and dying process of llama and alpaca fibers . We could not have asked for a friendlier guide than Wilfredo. He had exceptional English skills (no accent), and was very knowledgeable. He took us everywhere we asked, always with a smile. We could tell he really enjoyed guiding people. We would definitely recommend Alfredo for anyone who wants a fantastic guided experience.
Wilfredo arrived on time to pick us up from the hotel. The car was spacious and clean. He was flexible with us considering we were traveling with a baby and made sure we were all comfortable and happy throughout the tour. Wilfredo was knowledgeable about the Sacred Valley and the places we visited. Unfortunately we were unable to taste guinea pig because we fell asleep in the car on the way back to the hotel. We really enjoyed our tour with Wilfredo.
Excellent half day tour! We did not get to do this tour with Wilfredo himself, he was kind enough to advise us a ahead of time that we would be touring with his partner (we booked very last minute). But we had a great time with Jusmone. Very informative, extremely patient with our group of 6 and well organized. We enjoyed the visit in Chinchero and the lovely church and terraces there. It was also fascinating to visit the textile center and see how the natural dyes are made. Loved it. Highly recommended!

Wilfredo Cjumo was our private guide for several days we spent in the Sacred Valley and Cusco. Wilfredo is a very pleasant, knowledgeable person who grew up in the area and has plenty of information, history and folklore of all the areas. He grew up working the field with his family and later went through school to learn languages and achive a great standing as a well known local guide. - our adventure will start at 8. 00am and ride through the mountains and arriving to moray an amphitheater like place with a lot of Inka terraces built by the Incas and used as experimental station site (agricultural laboratory ) . - After touring we will continue for about 35 minutes and arrive to an amazing place called salineras ( salt mines ), where we will see a huge place of more than 4500 salt ponds and still used to get one of the best salts in the world and extracted with the same system of how it was before . - finally on we will be back to Cuzco and stop at Chinchero to explore the archeological and also visit its beautiful textile centers where we will learn how my ancestors got dyes using natural herbs, minerals and insects for coloring llamas and alpacas fibers and optionally buy the souvenirs directly from them who are the weavers . - Once the tour is done we will be back to the hotel .
