You will tour Cusco city (11, 000 ft), first on foot around The bohemian neighborhood of San Blas and wandering through the Inca-era and colonial-era streets. Then you will visit the most sacred places in Cusco city: the temple of Sun called Coricancha and the Inka Museum. Then we go through the main square to visit the local market of San Pedro. Later by car you will visit the megalithic Inca temple of Sacsayhuaman (12, 140 ft)and 3 important archaeological sites like Tambomachay, Qenqo and Pucapucara. You will return back to Cusco late in the afternoon by car to your Hotel.
I have taken many tours throughout the world and I can honestly say that Raul was at the top of the list. It was obvious that he loves what he does and showed us things in Cusco we would never had seen. The time in the market was excellent as we sampled some of the food. His knowledge of the Inca history was amazing. I would highly recommend him for a great overview of Cusco
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour the Incan sites in and around Cusco. Raul C was an amazing quide, very knowledgeable of the history and culture of the Incans, thoughtful regarding our safety and comfort and just good company. We learned so much. We particularly enjoyed his explanations regarding the building of the great walls of Saqsaywoman. Raul is a great storyteller, plus a great musician, he regaled us with his pipe playing on several occasions. He took us to a wonderful lunch spot overlooking the city where the food was excellent and the entertainment equally so.. I thoroughly recommend this tour and Raul C.
This review is for Raul Castelo Hermoza. He is among the best tour guides we have ever had! Raul led us (2) on a tour of the important Inca sites in and around Cusco. He is quite knowledgeable about the history, the anthropology and the archeology associated with the Inca and native peoples. Our day also included an animal preserve and a women's collective preserving the art of alpaca woolens. There is considerable misrepresentation of real alpaca woolens. If we had one regret it was not purchasing a garment!! Raul also advised us on our next day's excursion that we did not have enough time to experience the Pisac ruins and instead use our limited time to visit the Inca Museum and San Pedro Market in Cusco. We did and the museum was fantastic and the market was certainly a unque experience! We look forward to returning to Peru and have Raul as a guide. Highly recommended!
Raul was knowledgeable and fascinating. The love of his Country and Culture is clearly evident and his passion is infectious. I would highly recommend him for those who are curious about the Inka civilization. I only had one day in Lima with Raul and I wanted more.
Raul was an amazing guide. He showed me all the obscure historical sights in and around Cusco, in addition to all the other places he (correctly) thought I should see. I learned an incredible amount about the amazing city of Cusco during our day together. Raul's love of his city shined through, and brought me so much deeper an understanding than I had before. Touring Cusco with Raul was an incredible experience. I have never met a tour guide that had so much knowledge and passion about history, especially regarding the Andean region. He is a local that deeply understands the culture and sees history from a very objective perspective, rather than what the history books teach us. If you are ever in Cusco do not think twice about doing a tour with Raul.
