Good day! Just contact me and we built your tour together! My name is Wilbert B. Born Dutch and I love showing you my country and make good memories together! My interest for nature and cultural- and national Dutch history, combined with the pleasure I get from giving people a good time are the main reasons for being a guide. Rotterdam, one of the biggest sea-ports in the world, waas heavily bombed in WW2. This explains why modern architecture is so typical for this vivid international city. There is enough to discover! Do it on a 3 hour walking trip with a local guide. We will sense the atmosphere of this working-class-heroe city by walking from Central Station to The Old Harbour. Lets eat typical Dutch raw herring (if you dare) at one of the biggest street markets of Europe, smell the food in the modern Market Hall and be surprised by the architecture of the Cubic Houses (to be visited when open) How can you live in a house that consists of walls that are diagonal? Wilbert (Will) was great with communications in advance of our tour. During our tour, he was friendly and informative and led us through a great walk around Rotterdam. He asked if we had any questions throughout our tour. The only reason for a 4 Star rating versus a 5 Star rating was that we all felt he could have provided a more polished tour on the history of Rotterdam.
We had an awesome tour with Wilbert. He genuinely cared about the sights and experiences we had in mind, and he customized our tour according to our requests. Touring the city with him was enjoyable, as if you were exploring with a friend. During our brief stay in Rotterdam and Amsterdam, we managed to fit a lot into our schedule. He maintained a spotless car for transportation and drove carefully. We look forward to a future visit to the Netherlands and would not hesitate to use Wilbert as our guide.
We had unforgettable tour/transfer with Wilbert from Amsterdam to Port Rotterdam with visiting De Haar Castle, Utrecht and Rotterdam. We were accompanied by Wilbert at every site we visited, his comments were always appropriate and useful. We knew a lot of history of this area and lot of interesting facts. Wilbert was flexible, funny, and so informative! He adapted our tour for my husband's mobility issues. Our custom tour included a visit to Kinderdijk. We were given ample opportunities to explore and take pictures. A visit to the Maeslant storm surge barrier was impressive. I know we appreciated this technology more after seeing its size and engineering innovations. Wilbert found the perfect cafe for lunch and finished the day with a walking tour of central Rotterdam! We so enjoyed our day…excellent!
