Exploring the Rotterdam area is highly recomended whilst in the Netherlands. Rotterdam is the largest seaport of Europe, is vibrant, has a lot of contemporary architecture, challenging art, cubehouses, its own 'Horn of Plenty', City Cows and much more. Close by is the city of the Hague, where the Dutch government resides. Experience the Dutch liberal stance in this political melting pot. The Hague is also known for the International Peace Palace and miniature city of Madurodam. Of to Delft with its own very old crooked tower Church, famous Delft Blue pottery and numerous ancient buildings and canals. A true must see. These cities are all in the vicinity of Rotterdam, the city where I spent half of my life. Ofcourse this area is well known to me. Come join me and let me tell you the secrets of living here.

A BIG "dank u wel" to Pieter (our man in the yellow hat...and glasses, and socks...) for the fantastic tour of Rotterdam, The Hague and Delft! We had a picture perfect day and learned so much! Here are many of the sites we enjoyed seeing: "The Girl with the Pearl," a painting by "our relative" Jan van der Heyden, Olde Delft (fabulous--could have spent all day there), Cube Houses and the Marketplace in Rotterdam (we even tried fermented herring at the encouragement of Pieter)! My husband and I had a fantastic day with Pieter. He was so knowledge about the 3 cities we toured. He took us to get amazing cheeses and showed us incredible windmills from a very different t vantage point. Although the weather was miserable, cold and rainy, we had a wonderful day. 5 starts of course!!
Such a delightful day we spent with Peter. He curated a tour for us to learn about what makes the Netherlands, The Netherlands. It was so great and we walked away with such an appreciation of the people, culture, history and where the Netherlands is today. So worth the price to learn in a few hours so much about the country we are visiting. Highly recommended.

The Mauritshuis museum lies next door. Visiting the museum is optional. - Delft is without any doubt one of the finest old citys in the Netherlands. Visit the 'RoyalDelft' (optional) with the iconic Blue pottery, the Old and the New church (optional) or the Prinsenhof museum (optional). Enjoy the small canals, old buildings and nice little shops. -Back to Rotterdam. -If you have specific wishes, must see items or destinations in the area let me know. Extra hours: 85 euro p/h
