Hallo! I'm Niels, a true Dutch born and bred cheese-head, and live in a small town near Rotterdam. A born and raised Dutchman, I was educated as a primary school teacher and worked as such for 8 years. Then I decided to change my life and become a tour leader in Asia. Since 2009 I have been regularly working and living in India, Spain, South East Asia and my beloved homecountry the Netherlands! I am very proud of my city Rotterdam and I would love to show you all the highlights and the hidden gems as well. After a tour with me, you will as excited about Rotterdam as I am. We can tour the city in a half day (three / four hours) from the cruise terminal. If you have more time, we can visit the Kinderdike windmills, or a town nearby like Delft, Schiedam or Gouda. In flower season, I can arange transportation and visit the Keukenhof and tulpfields. Full day tour to the Kinderdike windmills and Rotterdam city centre
Overview of your Rotterdam tour
I will pick you up from the cruise terminal, from where we walk in 20 minutes over the Erasmusbridge to the Waterbus that brings us to the UNESCO Kinderdike windmills, a group of 19 monumental windmills, built in 1740. The the largest concentration of old windmills in the Netherlands. Step aboard a tour boat. Ideal for taking some nice pictures. After our visit, we go back to Rotterdam for a city tour. Embark with me on a captivating private walking tour of Rotterdam's city center and immerse yourself in the heart of this dynamic Dutch metropolis. The statue 'the destroyed city' resembles how the heart of Rotterdam was ripped out, after the bombardment in 1940. Only the church tower of the St. Laurens church remains standing. Embracing the future, the city is rebuild with unique architectural buildings like the Markthal and the Cube-houses. From Delfshaven, the Pilgrim Fathers departed for their adventurous journey to the USA. With public transportation I will bring you back to our start point.
