Juan Carlos was terrific! He was so knowledgeable about the Mayan culture, providing great descriptions of what we were seeing at the ruins. Had additional pictures to show us what the people looked like, how they lived, how cities were laid out. The small group size was perfect - and very personal. The swim in the lagoon was refreshing and the water is incredible. The lunch we purchased here was great - fabulous ceviche and tacos!
This was an excellent tour! Carlos was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He did a fantastic job explaining Mayan history and helped us pick a great place for lunch. Lake Bacalar was absolutely stunning. Also my husband is a wheelchair user and we had no problems with this tour, Carlos was very helpful when we needed it. 10/10 would recommend-Carlos is a fantastic guide!!!
Carlos was a wonderful tour guide. His knowledge of the Chacchoben Mayan ruins was fantastic. The setting of Bacalar Lake was wonderful, the lake was a perfect blue, the lunch on the dock was very good and during lunch we had time to visit with Carlos about his home area and the lake.
Juan was great at connecting with us on What's app before our trip. He was prompt and easy to find, the vehicle was clean and ready to go for the 5 of us! He was full of knowledge and answered all of our questions! The trip to the ruins was amazing, we really enjoyed the visuals he brought with him and used to explain. He took pictures with all of us and we never felt rushed. Appreciate that he had cold water for us. We went on to the beach club at the lagoon after for some swimming and lunch. Unfortunately, the weather took a turn but we still enjoyed lunch under a canopy and the lagoon was still pretty! Can't control the weather!
Truly wonderful tour! Juan Carlo, our guide, made this extra special. His knowledge and love for the area, the history, and willing to make this tour truly personal was amazing! We got to Chacchoben right as they were opening so we had the entire place to ourselves! Lunch at the lagoon was great and we really appreciated our guide picking sunk a great spot!
We had a wonderful day with Juan Carlos. He was kind, helpful, and very informative about the Mayan. He had extra pictures to explain their history and culture. Three generations felt safe and well taken care of the whole day from beginning to end. Muchisimas gracias.
Once we ride our vehicle it will take 1hr to get to chacchoben, we will spend around 1hr discovering the area, then we will ride 40 minutes to go to bacalar, there, I will take you to the lagoon or cenote whatever you decide, so you will be able to eat and swim!
