My name is Vladimir and I'm originally from the Mayan region of Quintana Roo, an actual descendant of Mayan rebel leaders. I grew up surrounded by the jungle, traditions, cornfields and the Mayan language. From a young age, I learned the value of our history and our land. Over the years, they have become my passion: exploring, studying and sharing the natural and cultural richness of Quintana Roo with people from all over. From Bacalar and Chetumal to Mahahual and the ancient Mayan cities, I've travelled across these places my whole life, first as a curious explorer and now as a professional guide. My mission is simple: to show you this corner of the world through the eyes of a native, so you can have an authentic, intimate and memorable experience. I look forward to welcoming you to Costa Maya to share what makes this place unique.

Experience the stunning Lagoon of Blue Colors as I guide you on a private boat tour, the best way to appreciate Bacalar’s famous blue tones up close and personal—far more impressive than what can be seen from a distance such as in a beach club. Together, we’ll explore calm waters, fully free of algae, as well as natural canals and shallow sandbars, with enough time to swim and enjoy the lagoon at your own pace. If you indeed want to swim, I suggest bringing additional dry clothing to change into, which you'd also have time to do at the end of the boat tour. But beyond this standard experience, if you have more time, you might also be interested in visiting the Cenote Azul, a beautiful and authentic natural site where you could also swim and even sample local dishes being offered on site! This would be possible in a longer version of the tour, so contact me before booking if you're interested and I could customize this tour for you!
-After we've met, we'll depart on a roughly hour long drive from Costa Maya towards Bacalar. -We'll then arrive at the dock where we'll go on board our ship & put on your life jackets for your safety. -Next, we'll depart on a roughly 2-hour long private tour, and as we sail away, we'll see the 18th century Fort of San Felipe, a historic landmark strategically placed in front of the lagoon, as it was used against the pirates that assaulted Bacalar in its colonial era. -The first thing we'll visit on the boat tour is a shallow canal, handmade by the Mayans over a thousand years ago. This is one of the most popular swimming sites in Bacalar! -We'll begin sailing by the western side of the lagoon, from where we'll enjoy great views of the town of Bacalar. -As we go across the lagoon towards the eastern side, we'll reach an area that is full of mangroves, where it is quite common to spot fish swimming around. -After the boat tour, we would drive back to Costa Maya, to where we would arrive an hour later.

I will be waiting for you just outside the Costa Maya entrance, standing on the central sidewalk with a sign displaying your name. From there, we’ll walk together to the vehicle and begin our journey to Chacchoben. I could also pick you up from your hotel if you were lodged in Costa Maya.
