Chacchoben Mayan Ruins - Half Day Shore Excursion

Let me guide you through the secrets of one of the most prominent and unique cultures in Southern Mexico: Chacchoben, located an hour from Puerto Costa Maya. It is one of the most important and powerful cities discovered in this region so far, as well as one of the most visited places. Through this experience, I will help you understand many myths surrounding the Mayan culture, telling you about the area and its people. I also promise not to rush you so you can take everything in and also be able to take pictures. As we walk through the jungle surrounding Chacchoben's temples, I'll contextualize you on their spiritual significance. The first time I visited this city, I was captivated by the blend of architecture and the surrounding jungle, and immediately understood why it has become one of the preferred destinations for travellers from all over. ·Once we've settled into our transportation after meeting up, our driver will take us to the Mayan city of Chacchoben (approximately 1 hour drive). ·Upon arrival, we will have 15 minutes to use the restrooms and meet back to begin the tour. ·We'll then begin an hour and a half long exploration of the ruins, where I'll recurrently look for shaded spaces where to stand so that I can share information about the structures in front of us as well as about Mayan daily life. ·At the end of the tour, I could provide you with a few minutes to explore the local shops and purchase souvenirs if desired. ·Afterwards, we will get back on our vehicle and drive back toward Costa Maya. ·Before arriving back, we could stop to sample local fruits in a village we will pass through on our way there.
