Hi, my name is Álvaro. I am a Spanish tour guide that has been living in Malta for a decade. Guiding and learning are my passion, and I keep them alive by doing what none else do, so if you are looking for a different tour, I am are your man :) If your are looking for a traditional tour I can happily make it , as this are the kind of tours I do daily, but I really would like to take advantage of the options that this page gives to me to show you the most beautiful, unique and inusual places that these amazing islands can offer youby doing tours which are not usually offered but have some of the most amazing Maltese features. I have been living long enough in Malta to know a lot of things (there is always something new to learn) but apart from that I am an inquiring person who wants to know always a bit more. In fact, that is how I started working in tourism years ago, discovering that tour guiding was my loved job. That's why I am involved in several activities (reenachtment, trekking, activism. . . ), so I can learn a bit more about this little, but full of secrets, archipelago. And that's why I want to offer people something different. If you really want to see Malta, give me a chance to guide you around and you will see what few people reach ;) Official tour guide with a Diploma on tour guiding by the Institute of Tourism Studies of Malta (ITS) and a license by Malta Tourism Authority (MTA) I have no restrictions

Valletta is known as "a city built by gentlemen for gentlemen". A paradise of baroque art, traditional food, and stunning beauty. But there is always a different story! The story of a city built by fanatic Christian monk-warriors for a perpetual Crusade. The story of one of the most famous red districts in the whole of the British Empire. Stories of murders, executions, prostitution, plague and lost souls in a city full of vice, misery and criminality. Come to see Valletta under a different light discovering secret nooks, and listening to a different version of the past by hearing about assassins, criminals, pirates and prostitutes instead of crusaders, priests and monks; changing churches and baroque buildings by haunted houses; the most glorious history for the most dramatic moments. Discover a different facet of the city, still beautiful in its surface, but with many tragedies, spectres and dark secrets in its guts.
This is a night walking tour which main aim is to show you the most gloomy and creepy aspects of the city, but also some of its legends, history and its less known spots. To do so, we will stroll many backstreets and stop in many not marked landmarks. Some of the well-known places that we will pass are (we will enter in no buildings): -Republic and Merchant streets -Upper Barrakka Gardens (notice that, although public, this garden has opening times, which can also be variated by events or unexpected reasons) -Republic and St George squares -The old Courts of the Order, the Royal Opera House and St Johns cocathedral. I may vary a bit the route if you show a particular interest. The city is completely secure at night. We can pass some time in the old Red District, where you may have time for a drink. The red district is not as it used to be, so we will find no prostitutes nor fights, but restaurants and pubs (I am sorry, but if you are in fight mood, this is not the proper area anymore!)
