While we have been to Malta a number of times we have always spent our time in Valetta (so much to see). This tour took us to Mdina, Hagar Qim (a fantastic megalithic site), and the blue grotto, before returning to Valetta. Nadine was a spectacular guide, timing our visits before the tour busses arrived, and providing a wonderful commentary. Once again toursbylocals came through for us.

Nadine is an amazing tour guide. She is very passionate about her country, and knows literally everything about the history, culture, architecture and society of Malta. There was literally nothing she did not know about the island and nothing she could not answer. She is highly personable and spoke perfect English. Your Valletta tour itinerary
We start off by heading towards the center part of Malta and visit Mdina Mdina: known locally as the Silent city, is a UNESCO heritage site, a superb fortified town teeming with medieval buildings as well as the stately homes of noble Maltese families. Next we head to the southwest of the island on the outskirts of the rural village of Qrendi where we find the most prominent prehistoric site on the island, Hagar Qim, a UNESCO Heritage Site -Photo stop dominating over the Blue Grotto. -Marsaxlokk: our main fisherman harbour characterized by the Luzzus the traditional fishing boats. Valletta: Finally we make our way back towards Valletta for a guiding walking tour of the capital city In Valletta we will discover the historic city center, Auberges of the Knights, main squares and gardens. Upon request we can visit St John's co-Cathedral, the main church of the Knights of Malta. Within this church some of the most prestigious work of art on the island. A short lunch break is allocated in Valletta
