Hello and welcome to Malta! My name is John – though here on the island, I’m warmly known as Ġanni. For the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a local tourist guide, after previous chapters of my life as a social worker, a chef, and more. Each of these experiences has shaped me, but my greatest passion has always been sharing the history, culture, and hidden treasures of Malta. I enjoy bringing Malta’s rich history, culture, and hidden corners to life, offering tours that are informative, relaxed, and enjoyable. My goal is to give visitors a genuine feel of the island, combining local insight with memorable experiences that go beyond the usual sightseeing. All my tours can be customized, please do not hesitate to contact me, and I will do my best to accommodate your requests!

We begin at the cruise terminal, where just a short 400m walk brings us to the panoramic elevator ride up to the city’s fortifications. At the top, a breathtaking view of the Grand Harbour unfolds — once the lifeblood of Malta and a stage for great naval battles, sieges, and centuries of trade. From there, we explore Valletta’s highlights and lesser-known treasures: St. John’s Co-Cathedral: a jewel of Baroque art and architecture, whose ornate interior hides world-famous works by Caravaggio. A stroll through Valletta’s streets and squares — from grand avenues to quieter, untouristic lanes, where hidden balconies, weathered doorways, and local legends whisper stories of everyday life through the centuries. Along the way, we pause for a Maltese snack.
