Hola! My name is Silvia and I am a professional tour guide in Malta. Originally from Ecuador, I moved here in the year 2000 and I have been a guide for the past 20 years. Malta is my second home and this is my dream job. Like you dear visitor, I was once a tourist and after discovering that this tiny archipelago has 7000+ years of history in only 316 SQ KM, I fell in love with its narrow streets and medieval towns. After 25 years, I still feel I am living in the land of the eternal sunshine (we have 300 days of sun a year). I have the knowledge and experience to make you discover our little gem in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea. Maltese culture is a wonderful mixture of different cultures and I have a passion for Maltese folklore. Anecdotes, superstitions and of course the history of every place we visit are part of the tours I deliver. Keeping in mind that this is your holiday or vacation, I will always make a point to let you enjoy your time in Malta, and adjust to your needs at the time of our tour. With me, you don't have to be shy and you can ask any questions regarding any aspects of everyday life in Malta. I will make my utmost effort to answer you in a timely manner, and if there is something I don't know I will find the information for you and for me. My biggest weakness is food, and in Malta, we are spoilt for choice of amazing places to try delicious Mediterranean dishes. So don't be surprised if I suggest a shortstop to savour one of our local delicacies. Or maybe just to sit down and relax in a typical square of a quaint village and sink into the atmosphere. These are just a few of a thousand reasons why I love Malta, and why I would be happy to take you on a journey to the past in a fun, informative and entertaining way. This is the best way to discover the oldest towns around the Grand Harbor of Malta, namely Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea. The Three Cities where the main hub for commercial and shipping activities during medieval times, and today this has been replaced for a more luxurious activity, superyacht berthing. One can walk along its yachts marinas and be awed by the size of some of the vessels. We will walk most of the times, but don't worry about getting tired as the main squares of the cities are full of cafes where you can recharge your batteries over a cappuccino or a cold drink, according to your liking. If you are coming on a cruise ship, this tour is ideal to stretch your legs a bit while being close to the cruise terminal.
After a 7 minutes ferry trip, we will arrive in the city of Vittoriosa, where we will walk along its narrow streets, stopping at the main square and parish church of St Lawrence. From there, we go down to the waterfront where we can admire the view of the yacht marina and if you are up to, we can visit Fort St Angelo. After a small stroll along the city of Cospicua, we cross to the city of Senglea. Here, we can take an easy walk to the tip of the peninsula for another panoramic photo opportunity of the harbour. A shortstop for refreshments and restroom will be recommended here, and also an opportunity to do a mini cruise around the creeks of the Grand Harbor on a traditional dghajsa (Maltese boat) before making our way to take the ferry back to Valletta Waterfront. The mini cruise might not operate in bad weather conditions.
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We will use the Ferry services to go from Valletta to the Three Cities (approximately 7 minutes journey). If you are a passenger on a cruise ship and the ship docks on the side of the Three Cities, we won't need the ferry. We will continue by walk and return again to Valletta with the ferry at the end of the tour.
