This tours stands to bring to life the ordeal which the brave people of Malta and their defenders have endured during the dark days of the Malta Blitz (1940-43) in the Second World War. This walking tour starts from the entrance of Valletta (unless otherwise requested) and proceeds towards the War Rooms and finishes at Fort St Elmo (the National War Museum). The highlight of this tour is the visit to the 'ultra secret' complex of underground tunnels and chambers from where the British forces took care of the defence of Malta and where in July 1943, General Eisenhower and his Supreme Commanders Admiral Cunningham, Field Marshal Montgomery and Air Marshal Tedder coordinated the famous Operation Husky - the Invasion of Sicily.
- Tour of the War Museum (approx. 90mins) - Walking in the War Rooms: considered as one of Malta's best kept secrets from World War ll. A network of underground tunnels and chambers that housed Britain's War HQ in Malta from where the defence of the island against Axis aggression was waged and all offensive operations in the Mediterranean were directed. (approx. 60-90mins)
