Hi, I am Miyu, a Nationally Licensed Guide Interpreter. I began my career as a tourist guide after working as a public servant for nearly four decades. I mainly guide tours to Hiroshima’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites — the Atomic Bomb Dome (including Peace Park) and Miyajima Island. As a local government employee, I worked in a department supporting atomic bomb survivors for 12 years before my retirement, and I still keep in touch with some of them, so I am knowledgeable about A-bomb survivors, the reconstruction of Hiroshima, and the effects of radiation on the human body, which I can correctly convey to inbound visitors. I’m a passionate fan of my local baseball team. So I enjoy talking about baseball with guests from countries where it is popular. I am a volunteer medical interpreter and can support travelers in the event of sudden health problems. I hope you will enjoy discovering the many charms of Hiroshima. Not only the two World Heritage Sites, but also places such as Shukkeien Garden, a beautiful Japanese garden, and Mitaki Temple with its tranquil atmosphere. I am not a driver. I usually offer tours using public transportation.

The highlight of this Half-Day Hiroshima Highlight Tour is a moving visit to the iconic A-Bomb Dome, Peace Memorial Park, and Peace Memorial Museum. These landmarks stand as powerful reminders of the tragedy that struck Hiroshima and the resilience of its people. You will learn how the atomic bomb deprived citizens of their future, then walk through the city that has risen beautifully from its past to become a global symbol of peace and hope. This journey invites reflection on humanity’s strength and the value of harmony. The tour also includes visits to the serene Mitaki-dera Temple, surrounded by tranquil nature, and Shukkeien, a graceful Japanese garden known for its ponds, bridges, and seasonal beauty. Together, these sites capture Hiroshima’s spirit—its sorrow, recovery, and enduring commitment to peace.
