I'm from Siena, born here and I still live in the city; I'm a licensed local guide since 2014, I'm an art historian and I currently work as a guide and sometimes as an educational activities organizer for individuals and schools. So I really love bringing foreigner people to visit my city and discover its ancient traditions and wonders: the highlights as well as the hidden parts. I'm a member of Contrada del Nicchio (the Sea Shell District, one of the 17 neighborhoods of Siena) and also a member of the group of the contrada taking care about the Museum and the Oratory of the Nicchio Contrada. So I love to do Palio tours also for Italian and foreign tourists: tours focused on the Palio horse race, its history and its curiosities. I've been working in museums in Siena and its surroundings since 2006, thus I love museums and do guided tours there. For 2 years I've been responsible of the Museum of Sacred Art of Valdarbia in Buonconvento, a burg set along the Francigena's path. So I love also the Sienese countryside and its hamlets. For these tours I can accompany and take customers with public transport or with their vehicle or rental cars. I also adore to do food tours inasmuch as I like foreigners to taste our local cuisine and typical dishes, no less than our excellent wine and "vinsanto"! Since 2014 licensed local guide: Tuscany Region certificate. Since 2011 educational activities organizer for nursery, primary and secondary school: Musei Senesi Foundation, AtuttoMondo Soc.Coop, Siena Educational Institutions. 2018 Tourist Office Manager: Siena Info Point. booking management, planning of tours, mini tours, transfers, cultural events and activities, tourist packages, tourist services. 2013-2015: Head of the Museum of Sacred Art of Valdarbia, Buonconvento: Musei Senesi Fdn. The tour previews to discover in half a day some of the wonders of San Gimignano, listed among the UNESCO World Heritage Sites since 1990 thanks to its medieval walls, gates and towers. That's why San Gimignano is known as the "Manhattan of the Middle Ages"! Wandering around its streets we will admire all the ancient charm of this incredible city and the stories of eminent figures with fascinating legends. Popular traditions are still lively here and they revive even nowadays thanks to jousts and fairs organized in the city. Then we'll find out the medieval Podestà Palace (13th century Town Hall) and its Great Tower, 51 metres high! Here it's possible to climb on til the top, enjoying a spectacular view of the Tuscan countryside. This is possible also reaching the Montestaffoli Fortress. We can also discover the beauty of churches, decorated by paintings, sculptures and mural painting, among them the St. Augustine Basilica and the Duomo: an architectural treasure preserving an entire medieval frescoed cycle.
San Giovanni Gate, then Via San Giovanni the main street with a pair of stops along the street at the monuments of interest, like the Cugnanesi Tower. Piazza della Cisterna, the main Square, where costumers can rest and, on request, have a tasting at the Gelato shop so-called "the best in the world". Then Piazza Duomo, Town Hall and all the other wonders. The Montestaffoli Fortress and St. Augustine Basilica. The visit to the House of St. Fina and of the medieval fountain is even possible, doing some up-hills and down-hills. The itinerary will develop through the most suggestive alleys and picturesque hidden corners of the village.
