Ciao, my name is Costanza, I was born in Siena and raised in a village in the beautiful Tuscan countryside. I have two different licences, I am both a nature walks guide and a city guide for Siena and its province, including San Gimignano, Montalcino, Montepulciano, Pienza, the Chianti area. After a degree in Natural Sciences at the University of Siena, I spent one year in England working in a National Park. That was an excellent occasion to learn English fluently and become more independent. When I came back to Tuscany I moved to an apartment in the historical centre of Siena, near the beautiful Cathedral and started working in a tourism office in the Chianti area. There I was selling wine as well as helping tourists to find their way on the winding roads of the Chianti hills. I liked so much this experience that I decided to become a professional guide. I have been leading walking tours since the year 2000, working for several American and Italian Companies and enjoying having always new interesting people around. Siena is a beautiful city and I love sharing my knowledge of the history, art and traditions with other people, especially small groups and individuals. I love to eat and I am eager to let you discover the specialties of this area, from "pici" (typical thick home made spaghetti) to "panforte". Just outside the medieval walls of Siena there is a beautiful countryside and you can take a guided walk with me. Walking is very good for you and it is also the best way to visit areas of naturalistic interest, to observe breathtaking landscapes and bits of history up close. I am waiting for you! Licensed city guide for Siena and its province. Licensed nature walk guide for Tuscany. •I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

We will walk on the via Francigena, the pilgrimage and communication road used by so many different categories of people along the centuries, exploring the nature, crops and history of the area that surround the tiny medieval hamlet of Monteriggioni.
We meet in the charming hamlet of Monteriggioni, perched on a hill and crowned by walls and towers that impressed the famous writer Dante Alighieri that mentioned in his "Commedia". After a visit to the hamlet we set off on the "Via Francigena" path, that was a pilgrimage and communication road that was crossing Italy to Rome, one of the most important destinations for the pilgrims along the centuries. But there were so many other reasons to be on that road and we'll explore them. After a pleasant walk on dirt roads we'll reach a former Benedictine Monastery that has been recently restored. Our walk back to Monteriggioni will take us on a rocky path in the woods of the "Montagnola senese" and just before the end we'll enjoy a panoramic view over the hamlet.
