Pompeii best tour - 3 hrs

Felicia was a fantastic guide for our private tour of Pompeii and made the site feel vivid, accessible, and much more personal than we expected. My husband and I booked Felicia for back-to-back tours of Pompeii and Herculaneum in early September. We specifically wanted to spend both days with the same guide so there would be some continuity between the two sites, and Pompeii turned out to be a perfect place to start. Felicia did a great job of explaining Pompeii not just as an archaeological site, but as a living, bustling city. She described the almost “Las Vegas” feel of Pompeii in its day — a busy town of merchants, travelers, entertainment, commerce, and everyday life. That perspective helped us see the ruins in a completely different way and made it much easier to imagine what the city would have felt like before the eruption. Her background as an archaeological restorer and art historian also added so much depth to the tour. She talked about the ongoing archaeological work at Pompeii and how much is still being uncovered and reinterpreted, which made the site feel very much alive rather than something frozen in the past. We took our tour in the late afternoon, which ended up being a great choice. Felicia lives very close to the Pompeii site, so she met us at our hotel and we walked over together, which made the start of the tour especially easy. She planned the route thoughtfully, helped us navigate the site, accomodated our personalized requests and gave us plenty of time to stop, ask questions, and explore without ever feeling rushed. We stopped for a water and ice cream break which also made the day relaxed and personalized. By the end of the tour, the crowds had thinned out and the golden-hour light made Pompeii especially beautiful. Walking through the site with fewer visitors around gave the last part of the tour a really special atmosphere. If your schedule allows, we would definitely recommend taking a late-day tour. Pompeii was a great day one for us and gave us a strong foundation for seeing Herculaneum the following day. Felicia made the experience memorable, engaging, and genuinely fun, and we would highly recommend touring Pompeii with her.

Suffice it to say Felicia is extremely knowledgeable and was able to tailor our tour to my sister who was in a scooter until it broke. Then she went to the office and found a wheelchair, pushed it around all the while talking about what we were seeing. So fortunate to have met Felicia, and appreciative. HIGHLY RECOMMEND and I am picky!!

What a fantastic guide!!! From the moment we met Felicia, she was warm, friendly and with a depth of knowledge that was beyond impressive. As our private 1/2 day tour guide, Felicia provided interesting and pertinent information about Pompeii, including its culture, history and context. As a native Pompeiian, Felicia was proud of her roots and was only too glad to share her vast knowledge with us. The site itself was overwhelming vast, yet she presented in the information that was absorbable. Bravo on a job well done.

"Best tour" is an apt description. Felicia was terrific. I can't imagine having anyone more knowledgeable about Pompeii. I only wish we had had more time. We got a better understanding of the ancient city than I could have imagined; Felicia was incredible at explaining how people actually lived there, and how the archeologists came to understand it. Next time we're in the area we'll try to schedule a few days with this wonderful guide.

Felicia was amazing, we're so happy we chose her. She's knowledgeable and gave us so many interesting facts. We covered a large part of Pompei in 3 hours and the time just flew by. We were traveling with our 2 teenagers and they loved it as much as we did. Highly recommend Felicia because not only is she enjoyable to spend time with, she's also restorates archeological sites and is from(and lives) in Pompei! We talked about how great the tour was all day!
